Not knocking Dubliners at all, its our most densely populated region in the country, but it's just how quickly we are rising.

Some of my post was serious but some in jest !
Using comments by some posters from the last few days as inspiration , tongue in cheek ;)

It is rising everywhere ,but will rise where the most people are , quicker .
It will gather speed around the country too if community transmission goes up .

There are obvious differences in population, work activity, pubs , shops and colleges, (!)
But I would be very surprised if there was any difference in how Dubs treat this in general to how people from any part of Ireland treat it .

So that saying we really need a government to stop blaming PEOPLE and place proper enforceable restrictions on all the areas that are contributing to this rise in cases .

14 in ICU. I think on the phone the numbers you think should be under the headings are actually above the headings (or vice versa).

UK reporting 3,991 new cases today despite their testing system falling over

It'd be more interesting if we got it broken down by postal codes but even that can cover a multitude of areas. One Dublin post code can have more people than some other Irish counties.

Yes, was interested to see that the population of a lot of suburbs / villages in Dublin are bigger than a lot of small to medium towns around Ireland !

14?? there was only 5 or 6 in ICU 2 weeks ago

Edit: 13 according to this but it's from yesterday https://www.hse.ie/eng/services/news/newsfeatures/covid19-updates/covid19-daily-operations-update-2000-15-september-2020.pdf

The increase in cases was always going to translate into increase in ICU, we need to reverse this trend.

Would love if people here could point me in the direction of the pubs in Dublin City Centre, not following the guidelines, please.

Just, I've been in practically every bar that's open, from O'Connell Street, Camden Street, Trinity Street, Dun Laoghaire, Blackrock, Ballsbridge and I'm still getting charged €9 for food and distanced from other tables.

Appreciate it if you could help a guy out :) Or, if you're just speculating without having a clue, probably best you shut up :)

I can point you in the direction of at least 3 , but you appear to be well served :)

Negative test result back for my 10 year old. Spoke to GP at 3 yesterday, got test by 6. Result at 5 today. So 25 hours in total, 23 hour wait from test. That seems pretty decent.

Possibly health workers living fairly locally??

Yes maybe some of those on normal pay ;)

We'd need to have something more granular for Dublin to really draw any conclusions. There's a wide divergence in density and socioeconomic conditions across the areas you are mentioning.

I'm not sure packing 1.3 million people into the boundaries of Dublin is a good idea, there's little risk in them going to the beach but lots of risk if they instead decide to go to the pub.

They seem to be very much prioritising children as they naturally catch minor upper respiratory Infections with high frequency, so are more liable to have families etc in isolation.

Yep. Sure in Dublin North Central you're mixing in numbers of some of the roughest parts of the inner city with Clontarf. It's very difficult to get a good grasp but I would suspect cases are lower in Clontarf.

Sure. Let's South Dublin to play their golf and party afterwards till early morning but on the North and the West should be imposed heavy restrictions. They cannot work from home in the warehouse so fatty individual from South can afford himself a steak while moving mouse at home "working " for Department of Justice.

It appears there is some sort of outbreak in Ballincollig in Cork.
    Ballincollig GAA have suspended play.
Second case confirmed at Colaiste Choilm.
Another case identified at Gaelscoil Uí Ríordáin in Ballincollig just now.

    One family apparently

Eh...what? People on the North side of Dublin also do stuff which is outdoors?

Plenty of I.T. and PS workers in the north and northwest of Dublin. Also plenty of warehouse workers in south Dublin.

Ronan Glynn is giving one at 6pm I think.

Virgin media saying he's unhappy with the way Gov released the plan and the timing of it.

Yeah I'm in a nice part of Drumcondra. Literally 300 metres away is one of the roughest parts of the North Inner City at Ballybough where shootings and stabbings are commonplace over the years. Cross the Luke Kelly Bridge and its a remarkable change. But the people who live on both sides transit through each.

For the purposes of managing Covid, the map could be redrawn. Maybe NIC being classified as the region between the liffey and Tolka.

If ever there was a clear illustration of how bonkers all these rules relating to the hospitality and travel sectors the above image is clear as day.

We can see where the problem is!!!

Save the schools is the mantra. If they don't they are cooked.
