Great to see some people are guided by their own moral compass.
We need more like him. A real community leader.

I'd have more of a problem that the principal of a school types like that!

Level 2&3 measures are really just pissing in the wind with cases increasing at the rate they are. People aren't on board with them, so it'll continue to increase and we'll see a phase 4 very soon thanks to early hesitation.

If they just suppressed the virus properly now, we'd have some breathing room in time for Christmas, the big spending period but now we'll have it out of control at that time of year and the economy will take an even bigger hit.

I do laugh at the suggestion of calling the guards everytime someone sees more than 6 people together, what do people expect an instant response?

Those calls go to the bottom of the pile, you'll be lucky to see a guard for a few hours. "We'll send a car when its available"

I’m not talking about the 6 people parties I’ve talking very large very big Gatherings and the majority of people would abide by the no visitors as it would be obvious when neighbours see cars arriving with guests . Never underestimate power of neighbours looking down their noses

The PR team did well throwing the Donnelly covid issue into the mix to distract from the shambles of the 5 Level Plan.

Did you know that twitter limits the amount of characters you can include in one tweet? I guess we all have different priorities.

You'll be glad to know that they've invented a spell checker. You need to be close enough to the word and it corrects for you. Amazing. Spelling tests should allow you to get within a spell checkers recognition for spelling tests to be an efficient use of time these days but I digress.

It added to the shambles, it didn't distract.

I can guarantee you those bunch of absolute clowns did exactly the opposite of what the PR team told them yesterday.

Pedantic Pete. It's twitter, hardly the forum to write like Shakespeare.

It’s only been a few months

It's been presented by media/gov as years-long restrictions at the very least.

So people need to get on with the nuts and bolts of life by operating in a vacuum.

But they can still go to the pub?

Do I get the babysitter to look in the window at the kids, or how does that work?

I presume seen as visitors from 1 house are allowed, the babysitter can come in

Sweden did not have a lockdown and they are now on the green list. Which only proves that the lockdown is good at feck all.

I don't use Twitter because it's a complete mess and full of arseholes (more so than most other social media). Each to their own I suppose.

They need to restrict all visitors in Dublin see if it makes a difference so no visitors to private homes except for caring purposes . People can go to controlled environments like restaurants and even dare I say it wet pubs and no housekhold visits unless outdoors .
And people should be bloody reported if they have visitors and parties every one has a social responsibility to behave and to do what’s right, if you see a party don’t over look it call the guards

In your dreams. That horse has bolted. It's amazing how some people just can't see that the herd is moving on.

Varadkar on Today FM saying whatever NPHET give as advice on Thursday will go to the new oversight group because as NPHET he says are great scientists they "don't know how to run an economy" so the advice needs to be filtered with social and economic considerations.

Cabinet meets again next week as usual

Well they might have to get to work or an appointment. Lots of people travel into Dublin - that's why the "LOCKDOWN!" scenario isn't viable right now.

    So filtered science.

    This will end well.

Lol.. what? For trying to make a living?

If you want to cocoon then cocoon, but some people here really need a reality check. The debt is already going to subject the next generation to even more debt slavery and the endless borrowed cash is running out imminently.

Learn to live with this thing, there is no other choice.

You can’t learn to ‘live’ if people are dying. Health services being crippled.. for everyone still with non covid health issues.

Making a living ? If manner they are doing so is contrary to restrictions and health guidelines then fûck them... what they are saying to the rest of us is fûck us they are going to get their end no matter the cost...

They are not going to pubs now and it’s increasing its increasing because of parties . Have you seen an inner city funeral lately lots of marquees out on roads and large groups
One birthday party near temple street recently in courtyard of flats for roughly 800 people
Back lane ways to houses kitted out with patio heaters and hired bars and garden furniture for groups up to 100

Yep. The herd has moved on.

Throwing NPHET under the bus once again. He really is a very unlikeable person.

Seems like a fairly balanced approach.

Well he's talking now about any restrictions such as Kildare on Dublin would be 10 times worse economically so that's why they don't want to go that way. It would be the end of many businesses.

    Everything needs to be balanced

    Are you sure about that?
I had a look at that and similar graphs. It's not immediately obvious how they defined a critical care bed but other stats I found, hint that you are correct. I can edit the post previously to remove the incorrect info if you wish.

    Genuine question.
If two people not currently living together get married, are they obliged to maintain ‘social distancing’ during the ceremony.
And how do they, (ahem), consummate their union while maintaining ‘social distancing’?

Would cabinet not meeting till next week mean NEW restriction would earliest be Monday ?
