The virus wouldn't spread if the people of Dublin obeyed the rules. Strange it's working well in most of the other counties

Less poeple around mean lower chance of spreading it. One pub in the middle of nowhere may have 3-4 people max at it. A Dublin pub, 30-40 people at it. The likelihood of catching it in Dublin is far higher due to more people simply existing here.

Basically, if all positives were being announced the next day we would have had 310 cases announced today. 357 is obviously higher, but hardly demonstrates a deliberate tactic of holding back numbers...especially as there is potentially another 70 out there they could have included.

Do you mean that there were an additional 47 cases from midnight to 5.30pm today on top of the 310 in the last 24hrs?

Where do you get the 70 from?

Can anyone who actually heard the radio interview actually clarify if it's true?

The way social media works all it takes is one person to say "apparently he was coughing on the radio" and it becomes fact, spread all around social media as fact. May not actually be true.

    Anyone?

He was coughing in the briefing early today. His mic also cut during one cough so they cut it off

    Level 2. Phase 4?
    Or level 3. Phase 5?
    Zone 2. Level 3?

    I'm so confused.

No, there were 120 cases over weekend not reported. This is 47 of those. No one is really sure why there is a delay but it happens regularly.

You sort of can can't travel outside Dublin, FFS. The tourist industry will not like this at all.

In relation to SDs suspected Covid status, isn’t it very convenient that the entire cabinet can now avoid answering questions on their mish-mash of a plan and the car-crash of a presentation of it.
Has Covid now mutated into a different strain called Political Covid?

Would you rather they come out and someone gets ill. I mistakenly decided to read the Journal comments sections and Jesus you have to worry for this country maybe we do need a nanny state

357 new cases today with 218 of them in Dublin? What the holy fcuk are the Dubs doing? Are they neglecting social distancing and mask wearing etc? 139 for the rest of the country. I know Dublin is more populated and they are all on top of each other and there's more in the city and there just more happening in Dublin.

It's a lot of new cases all around.

No vast majority are abiding carefully , so watch out wherever you live , in case it happens to you !

    Who isn't following guidelines?

As they stand, these guidelines are doing nothing to suppress the virus. Don't blame the people living in Dublin, blame the virus and its ability to spread.

The numbers are not high in other counties/cities, people are spreading it, too many gathering together, sorry but Dubs need to stay in Dublin no none essential travel

He's getting torn apart in this interview.

Everything is very clear is the answer to every question or ask NPHET

At least McCullough is asking the proper questions.

    Perry is useless at it.

True but look how little cases Cork has. No excuses for Dublin. Need to be educated better

Probably contact tracing due to high numbers of contacts.

What happened to all these great Ventilator sharing ideas/ productors that came out?

Can we not double our ventilator coverage which standard products in and around the hospital, or some simple modifications?
I thought this and other ideas were tested?

And yes and no the physical beds and staffing is also an issue, but when the **** hits the fan, and you're told, with the guy in the bed next to you, we can toss a coin to see who gets the ventilator, or you can share it with one nurse looking after both of you.......What will you pick!!?

It may not technically be a fully ICU setup, but the ventilator seems to be the main requirement to have?

Many people here on boards will claim he's asymptomatic and he has every right to be out and about. The man was coughing. He's not a covid positive yet though and I hope its not covid.
