Did they give an indication of when the next review will take place?

It's not often we all agree on something. Might be the first time ever.

This isn't a plan, this doesnt even ahve the makings of a plan.

This is waffle. upon more waffle with a little twinge of 'oh how can we not annoy the Dubs and make ti look different for the one place that needs it"

No plan for large sporting events, no plan for Christmas. This is meant to cover 6 months

We knew is would be bad, this is shambolic

If this is the best they can come up with, they we are all f**ked!

The vast majority of people are not Covid anoraks. I can assure you that Mary, Brigid, Luke, Luke's bestie, Dave and Dave's buddy aren't even going to think about the limits, never mind try to work them out.

First time I've been called an anorak but I agree that most are not going to even think about what household restrictions mean for them and therein lies the problem.

Well now that you've said that, the plan is growing on me.

When asked they said "This is a six month plan" yet they said "We will be talking to NEPHET again on Thursday"

Why is the limit on gatherings outside a home, the same as within a home? No more than six people, from two households, can meet in a house - okay. But the same applies if they meet in an open airy park?!

Never in thirteen threads have I seen complete agreement on every single issue. Not even during Golf Gate. Well done government, you've done what I never thought was possible - united the people.

Dubliners strongly advised to stay within their county :D

    Good luck.with that one.

Are golf trips for the elite of FFG exempt from all this?

I am in Dublin and I do not know one single solitary case outside of a nursing home. Not one. Come on FF/FG tell us how many cases are actually sick with Covid and how many are just an asymptomatic, positive test. Give us these figures or you will lose support with this.

I know of three cases in one Sandyford based company alone.

    FFS.

The plan itself is fine. The levels all make perfect sense, it would be really easy to present this in a way that someone could find out, "What level am I at today, and what can I do?"

As a Dub, I would have no issue with 3 weeks of level 3. It's a small tightening of restrictions, nothing crazy. For 3 weeks.

But they have gone and fvcked this up completely. What is clear, is that Meehaul didn't look at the "2-ish" proposal for Dublin and realise how unclear it would be. "We are introducing a nice, clean warning level system, and then immediately disregarding it".

    An absolute failure in leadership.

We have a five-level plan we can work with now. Better late than never.

Time to call a General Election.

So Clarity was the name of the game apparently but it seems that it’s as clear as mud in parts. Didn’t the government hire a PR firm with the messaging ? I hope they haven’t paid them yet because the small bit I did see on my phone of the press conference I didn’t seem clear. I think this Dublin half way house .5 is another level of confusion that is not helpful.

So those in Dublin are not recommended to travel outside the county, but there's no measure to actually stop this happening?

    Is this a joke

But we're being strongly advised not to.

So Dubliners are "strongly advised" to stay in Dublin.

That will put the fear of God into the thousands who will head to Bray this weekend.

I'm in Dublin too. I know 4people currently with the virus, around 10 people who've had it and 3 who have died. You are right, it is real.

    1. Kids don't transmit so much.

    2. Education more important than than you and your mates watching football.

I agree I just think if we get to Level 5 - its madness to leave them open. Its not even the schools themselves its all the interactions before and after that will help spread the virus.

As long as it's in Clifden you'll be grand. You'll have to buy a €9 Sand-wedge though. :D
