How come there's no numbers today is it because I was busking in the promenade in Salthill.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Phase 3 for Dublin won't be very effective unless public attitude somehow changes drastically, which I can't see happen. This government has lost confidence so it will be difficult getting the right people on board.

The people in Dublin who abided by every restriction will abide by any new restrictions
The people who are not abiding now still won’t regardless of what colour its called
I and everyone I know have followed every rule . Its the eejits who don’t who are causing this

The longer they postpone the restrictions the worse its going to get. Eventually they will be left with the choice, full lockdown or allow it spread out of control. Rising hospitalizations and ICU numbers will then probably dictate a full lockdown.

At a minimum they need to ban house to house visits, cancel nursing home visits, postpone all sports events particularly contact sports, postpone bar openings, postpone 3rd level openings and a couple other measures. That might slow the spread.

Nursing home visits are down to 1 in Dublin anyway.

What would postponing sport events do ? They're already behind closed doors.
Bar reopenings in Dublin are unlikely, will everywhere else. Third level is mainly online for the first semester at a minimum.

Strange, a 200 plus seems positive. We're well on our way to seeing a 500+ plus number. Perfect for when the introduce new messures this week.

The new measures in Dublin alone?

18 cases of known community transmission is low enough based on the case number

You realise the numbers can rise even if people abide by the restrictions right? Seeing as the country has massively opened up..

Nasal swabs have been recommended for children rather than the brain swabs, per CMO

You gonna be able to control yourself if that does happen? Why does fear mongering excite you so much?

For a person who doesn't even live in this country it's quite strange

Is him going on a hike a metaphor for a “hike” in numbers?

Dr. Ronan Glynn, Acting Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health, said:

"NPHET has decided to reduce the period of isolation from 14 to 10 days for confirmed cases from the onset of symptoms, based on advice received from the Expert Advisory Group following a review of the evidence.

"In addition, it has been agreed that nasal swabs are an acceptable alternative to nasopharyngeal swab for use in children in the community. This will hopefully make testing a simpler process for children going forward.

"COVID-19 is an evolving pandemic and NPHET is committed to adapting advice and guidelines based on emerging evidence."

Most likely and perhaps a lockdown for Dublin southwest, but it all sees pointless, it might slow it down slightly but not enough for it to be successful. we're not at the lockdown stage yet but unfortunately it's the only play the government have so expect one in a month or 2.

121 or so unexplained or under investigation, chunk of them will inevitably be community transmission.

We're never going back into lockdown, not really sure why you're still preaching it.
