There won’t be another lockdown. No matter what. There’ll be restrictions (as far as they can be policed) on going into other people’s homes, but no chance we go back to non essential businesses closed and draconian restrictions on distance allowed from your home. It will destroy the economy for a generation. The French, Italians and Spanish have all more or less stated this publicly

Let there be no doubt, if we get to a situation whereby there are 1,000+ cases a day for a sustained period of time then we will have another lockdown.

That situation should not arise however if the Government take the right decisions in reopening the country and implementing localised and targeted restrictions as required. However I fear the Government may make a balls of it yet. There seems to be a '**** it, lets see how we get on' attitude creeping in.

What are they doing in New York now that Madrid is not, do you know?

They have herd immunity? Its not that far fetched. Some areas of NY had over 60% of people with antibodies. Its obvious that the virus had already burned through a lot of the city by the time lockdown happened.

All the government actions lately suggest economy is f*cked.

No longer giving out PUP payment
    Pubs opening
Making noises about more foreign travel
    Moving away from lockdown

Tomorrow is going to be hilarious, Antifa are having a pro mask gathering at the spire and Ming is one of their speakers.
A splinter group was created after the last March the Anti Antifas there separate from the anti lockdown and yellow jacket and will be up for the fight.
Then we have Boyd Barret and the gang having an anti right gathering.

I can't wait to watch all this unfold tomorrow...

    Non news .

I think the Swedish situation is a big factor in any decision, if it stays as controlled as it is now then there will be no lockdowns

    I can't see cases hitting a thousand a day again.....3...4..or even 500 at a push but I can't see a 1000 a day.....

Nowhere near it, even if it will be a thing(herd immunity)

I heard I think it might be 20% in the worse hit areas of NY.

They still have lots of restrictions in place.

Sounds good, I am from an area that to the best of my knowledge there has not been a single case for at least 30miles in any direction, the kids have benefited from football etc being back on, lock em down, because we can't lock down Dublin when they have alot of cases

Just back from a walk. Nobody around . Think Dublin has locked itself down!

Not sure if anyone posted yet but the Department of Health has hired Teneo (PR Firm) to handle the plan announcement on Tuesday

Why would they need to do this ?

Because they need Donnelly to shut the f*ck up.

I genuinely think I'd tear Donnelly to bits (with words, duh) if given 5 minutes with him

Without knowing anything about Teneo, my prediction is that they'll do the announcement better than minister Donnelly.

Is it specifically for the Tuesday announcement or a general contract to clear up the muddy messaging overall?

Wollman rink only just re-opened. I don't see why it was closed to begin with since ice-skaters are avoiding contact anyway.

Because this is about personal responsibility now, which means it’s all about persuasion and messaging, and so they need better advice on that than they’ve clearly been getting to date

Here is the article on it.

    https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-40047419.html

"The spokesperson added that Teneo had been hired on a short-term basis for the rollout of the plan.

The Government has held off on any new restrictions on household visits which are widely expected in Dublin and Limerick until the new 'Living with Covid' plan is launched on Tuesday, which will run for at least six months.

The plan is expected to set out a grading system from one to five for different parts of the country, as well as an overall national grade."

Why the capital 'I' for ire? Is it because we live in Ire-land?

I never agree with you on anything but this, I do. There comes a time where we need to stop relying on the government to bail us out from this health crisis. It all now comes down to the actions of each and every single one of us. It's such a pity that many people don't care about the spread of this virus and they flaunt guidelines. Everything I did over the past few months following the guidelines, I did it not only for myself and my own health in mind but also that of my families and friends and work. I saw that I had a civil duty to try my best not to catch this and not spread it.

    HSE Operations report

53 in hosptial as of 8pm. Increase of 2.

7 in ICU 6 of whom are ventilated. No change.

11 cases diagnosed in hosptials today.

    2 in Drogheda & Mayo.
1 each in Beaumont, CHI Crumlin, Mater, Portlaoise, Vincent's, Tallaght, UHL.

From a quick look a few discharges across the system today but doesn't appear to be too many additional admissions.

Overall this time last week there was 47 cases in hosptial of which 7 were in ICU. Not a massive change week on week. Certainly lower than had been seen in previous 2 weeks
