One thing I do know it does it triggers some people in here when I put them up :D

Children don't spread. Schools should be open it helps children's learning and they have been closed for 6 months.

Wet bars cause spread and dont really add much to the health of society.

Wet bars not good in a pandemic.

I hate the word wet bars / wet pubs, they should open them and see how they manage will cases increase from them or not etc.,

Dublin numbers are high but as the captial city it will not be locked down completely but some restrictions could be applied

Exactly obesity and it's associated complications cost the NHS more than the police, fire services and judicial system put together.
I'll admit I'm no Adonis but I've been making an effort to lose weight over the past few months and I feel great.
I have a better sleep pattern, I feel less tired, less sluggish, I've got age on my side I admit but I encourage everyone to make the effort. It's bloody worth it.

Would that be because of Covid or were you just trying to get healthier anyway?

I predict that zero of the suspected cases will turn into confirmed cases tomorrow. I’ll post an update then.

Correct. No Covid patient gets into ICU before they even know they have Covid.

What does python say about the icu trend? Compare say when we had 10, 50, 80 and 100 cases 7 day average

python says the ICU trend is low and seemingly stable, but the hospitalisation rate is rising and at least correlates with the rate of infection.

I have a hunch the two are connected.

The number of suspected cases in icu has fluctuated daily. The icu cases are stable at between 4 and 8 since early July, If I have a heart attack tonight, I will have a Covid test when being admitted to icu and will be a suspected cases in the data for a few hours

What wind up ? It’s been explained that every patient in ICU gets tested and therefore is a suspected case until there is a result. Not every suspected case in hospital has become a confirmed case.

Whoever invented the term "wet pubs" should be put up against a wall and have 100 €9 meals fired straight at their face.

I've been to a wet pub once, the roof was leaking and yellowish liquid was dropping into a bucket. When you ordered a pint of lager, the "beer" looked and tasted suspiciously similar to the stuff that was in the bucket, but at least it was cheap.

But that's the only time I've used the term, and I never went back to the place.

I won't raise it again. Sorry I gave you the satisfaction you craved. There are some really good posters with great information on this thread who don't resort to these tactics. You lose credibility as a result.

Except it’s not a threat to everyone. Far from it actually.

I will always report the suspected numbers no matter what people think of me because they are part of that page of the report . But I do know it does p*ss a few people off in here when I post them.

Not with 6 people in ICU and virtually no deaths. These numbers have to change drastically before a lockdown is justified.

No. You have to stop the spread and serious illness before it gets to more people in ICU and more deaths .

I am not convinced yet that case numbers = serious illness , while we are seeing a lot of asymptomatic due to increased testing .

However caution needed with socialising etc because hospital numbers are increasing ...slowly ...every week .

With winter coming they will be wanting to keep those numbers down as well

Lockdown is not the same as restrictions. I was talking about lockdown. I suspect you are talking about restrictions.

Is there independent companies out there that offer testing outside of HSE? A colleague of ours in work tested positive today but we're not on contact tracing list. She was last in work on Tuesday last. Was passed on covid from family member who developed symptoms on tuesday but she didn't develop symptoms until Saturday.
We would like to get all employees tested as we are a frontline service dealing with general public on daily basis and to ensure that public have full confidence that our business is covid free.

Its been made crystal clear so far. If your not in local restrictions they open.

Thats what everyone has to go on at the moment.

"Numbers will be out of control in 2 weeks time" been hearing that line now for a good while. While I'm not saying it may or may not be the case we can't state it as fact

Call the doctor and say you have a cough and a high temperature and you’ll get a test no bother

Its been made crystal clear so far. If your not in local restrictions they open. Would be quite unfair for a pub in Sligo for example to be closed due to Dublin cases.

Thats what everyone has to go on at the moment.
