Its great to see the excitment at the podium. All the hugging and happiness.

Delighted for Gasly, he deserved this win after showing serious character since losing his Red Bull drive

F1 needed this podium without any Mercedes/Red Bull/Ferrari on it

I think the Pink Mercedes might have a (Racing) point to prove this weekend, and as much as we mock Stroll constantly he has had a front row start here.

They certainly made that Racing Point.

Hamilton a few weeks ago "was that the chequered flag?" He was so bored.

I don't think he was bored, he reckons he was in the zone much like Senna desribed of himself at Monaco in 1988.

He has equalled Michael Schumacher's record of consecutive points finishes today.

Hamilton straight over to Gasly to congratulate him before the cry babies try to suggest it never happened.

    Thrilled for Gasly.

Very harshly treated by Red Bull and had a really tough year as a result.

A win today and is pound-for-pound surely the driver of the season so far.

    Well maybe not bored
But he was so far ahead the idea that we would be passed our even under the slightest bit of pressure was nowhere in his mind.

Mad that it’s the first French winner since Panis in 1996

Super impressed with Gasly, don't think he put a wheel wrong with all the pressure at the end. Was waiting for him to lock a wheel and miss one of the chicanes. Is having a great season, seems to be mentally in a very place at the moment.

Delighted for Gasly and that we got a decent race for a change. Just shows what we’re missing out on when one team is so dominant.

Last time there was a French and Italian national anthem on the podium was at Montreal in 1995. Alesi and Ferrari.

Is 12 years and on the same circuit some sort of record between victories for the same team even if the name has changed?

I was actually standing in front of the telly, shouting with excitement on the last lap. That hasn’t happened in a long, long ****ing time.

Conceded and admitted he didn't see the red light. Was obviously told where to go by the stewards

Yep. First thing he did when he got out of his car was to congratulate Gasly.

    Meanwhile...

Raikkonen was hopeless. No pace or stamina. Old man - should have retired in 2018.

You do know how slow the car is? How slow all cars with Ferrari engine are?

Favourite part of the season so far. Gasly sat on his own the podium. The pure emotion caught on that was amazing

On the quickest tyre he drops from fourth to thirteenth over the course of twelve laps, being passed by Grosjean and Latifi in the process. Sometimes it seems too easy to blame the machine rather than it's operator.
