    Yet you can't counter what I said . ;-)

    So you're a Mormon?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,525 ✭✭✭Curious_Case

    You are a liar.

    Is that a logical assumption?
What does he (or maybe even she) have to gain by convincing you that their marital status is, or at first glance appears, unorthodox?

Maybe I'm a Mormon? Who knows. Why would having a son be a mystery? Reproduction is quite simple, although if you don't understand there are many resources available on the topic. It's amusing to see you and another poster revert to mentioning the two wives when you can't counter my comment, a lack of intellectual ability prehaps?
Although I did offer an explanation about the two wives comment. Feel free to search.

Oh well. Having two wives is nothing extraordinary. Happened to me too and there are people with 3 or 4 or even more. And I am not talking about muslims or mormons here. Point is to divorce previous one when you are moving on.

    So you're a Mormon?

Genuine question why do you feel you are justified in getting so personal with someone you don't know? Does the screen in front of you allow you feel detached from your odious behaviour?

To bolster his anti-measures argument of the day.

One of the wives was, I believe, 'sat on her hole' claiming the PUP,

While the other was working throughout.

He said "maybe". He did not say he is a Mormon.
For you to jump from maybe to say that he is a liar show lack of comprehension.

Genuine question do you dismiss everything said by a poster because of the constant attack from a certain cohort.
I addressed the two wives comment last night but I won't repeat it because it would identify another another poster who has a poor history too.

TBH forgive me if I don't think it's actually a genuine question.

And you're the one plastering 'personal' stories (true or false - who knows anymore?) rather than actual data or information.

You seem to to be an expert on modding - lots of experience I guess.

    Presume you'll report me.

Why would I report you ? You feel it's important to attack someone you don't know, belittle the personal information they felt was important to share ( although posting my son's donation was a positive from feed back I got, other people willing to become living donors)
I'm not a great person but I try not to be nasty, genuinely you should try it.

The genuine answer is that it is pretty stupid when people attack other with unrelated remarks and even more stupid when it is personal attack simply because they do not have any other argument handy.
I missed your comment, I simply pointed that having two wives or more is possible.

I read your reply I can't find a counter argument to anything I have posted, is this a personal attack?
You do respect the rule of attack the comment not the poster I hope.

Any chance you will counter anything I said without resorting to a personal attack? To-date you have refused to do so.

Does anyone have friends who are completely the opposite view of let’s say masks, social distancing, lockdown etc that you have and if so how do you deal with that?

I have one friend that literally posts absolute lies (not opposing arguments) like for instance last week he posted this

    https://images.app.goo.gl/khvLRr8QepJ9sDmE8

It is complete lies but instead of checking posted. Once shown it is fake, no acceptance.

    Every conspiracy straight away published.

He’s on every march, no mask and has now turned into an anti vaxxer. I haven’t met up with him since March (and he is one of my best mates because I am worried that he could transmit something to me and I transmit to my parents (only seen them twice).

We do chat regularly but don’t even bring it up.

Alas it's the times we live in when anyone can post on FB or Twitter with their views and get lots of attention and then it's like a snowball - and while FB/T say they are doing everything they can to remove crap then you get the other crowd crowing about free speech. No win situation. And we all know everything on those social sites is the "truth" for people who are not capable of single independent thought
Have one relative who is a bit like that but he was always a bit mad to start with

That poster asked how it compares 'percentage wise'. I answered in percent.

Yes. I had thought it had gone up until I worked out percentage.
She has a point though about the type of cases .
Note there are now cases cropping up where there were none , eg Leitrim now has 2.

There are nutters on both sides of this. It shows how crazy we can become with enough stimuli.
Some people get crazy spending too much on internet soaking everything they see not questioning reliability. Other people get worked up by what they see in TV or newspapers.

Simple, the higher cases in the public, the higher risk healthcare workers can be infected, either in or out of work. Same for protecting nursing homes. The onus is on the public to keep case numbers as low as possible.
1 in 20 people in Ireland work in healthcare, so 200 cases today, statistically that's 10 HCW's potentially infected. Yes they take precautions, but there's no 100% prevention method to Covid, it's all risk management. Higher cases = higher risk for everyone.

Also dealing with so many ill people , with a higher chance of coughing and higher viral load , anybody can pass it on and then that healthcare worker may be unknowingly working while infected .

I have been dropping into Boards a few times each week to have a look, and sometimes dropped out just as fast .The odd interesting and informative post and the rest .Well now lets just say people have time on their hands and like using the old keyboard to maybe stir a bit of controversy. The result being that nobody takes whats said here as even remotely solid and reliable information.
The bottom line is that this pandemic has now killed 880.000 people .
    Infected 27,000,000 .
Young people are so complacent its mind boggling .
Nurses and Doctors are putting themselves at risk every day they get up ..
Not just themselves but their families also .
Schools should be running 7 days a week .Three days attendance one week and four the next .Community Centers should be used as classrooms .At risk teachers would be safer by doing this .
Proper compensation for country pubs and stay closed until there is a vaccine .Not going to be financially viable for small bars to open anyway due to the restrictions that will be put in place .Much safer and financially sensible to keep our cases down and out hospitals able to function better in order to cope with all the other illnesses out there .
Town centers to be policed more .Not just at night .Large shopping centers number restricted .
GAA seemed to work so far . All Ireland championship should be changed to knock out with all games streamed or televised .
See out 2020 and Astra Zenica to come good in the new year .Thanks

It has not killed 880000. Such nonsense. I suggest continuing your previous approach with respect to these threads. Deaths are generally counted "with" covid and not just where covid was the main cause.

In Ireland for example, we have more detailed insight into our data and we know it is the most conservative number possible as it includes deaths of people who were probably infected with covid as well as those who had contacted it at the time they had died (ie they can't say they died from it). Other stats on the deaths since that is what you are focusing on; the median age of all those dying "with" covid is actually higher than the median age for life expectancy in Ireland meaning it is no more harmful to the really old people and is no more harmful than just being old. In addition, underlying conditions prior to covid were noted in something like 90% of deaths. This is all despite the median age of infections being 48.

It is the flu without a vaccine for the vulnerable and nothing here justifies the type of action you are calling for.
