It may have been laughed at at the time, however we have seen since then a surge in corporation tax from the sector. Real economic benefits

    Few cans, be grand?

We need to open the pubs for our own sanity...
I'd say it was the brandy.

Any info about how many beers we can expect this evening?

Masks may play a role in ensuring the initial exposure levels are low and result in fewer fatal outcomes. This makes me quite concerned for teachers I know who are not permitted to wear masks in their schools. Should be mandatory, children are well used to it and the alternative (spreading covid) will likely lead to more traumatic outcomes.

I find the majority of your posts well reasoned and balanced, the above however is arguing something noone else has said.

    Cork natives?

I'd be surprised if they were, Corkonians have the highest compliance of mask wearers in the known universe and with their advanced cultural beliefs I'm surprised they'd go against guidelines and stage this protest. I bet they're actually all Dubs.

Isn't the beer usually late on Saturday, around 4.30pm?

I wonder if they eill be the same crowd as last Saturday who were chanting "RTÉ is the Virus",
I looked crooked at one of them on Oliver Plunkett St. and got a feed of abuse from her, she started screaming at me like a fish wife that she knew where I lived (which she got right), I told her to go to Gardai and report me so, she nearly had a meltdown right in front of me when I said I wouldn't waste my breath arguing with the likes of her.

You looked crooked at her and she knew were u lived?. Who is she? Rasputin? You obviously have history with her/them no? Why would she teport you for just looking at her wtf..weird..are you one of the counter demonstrators maybe so youre both parties familiar with one another? C'mon now a bit of context cos dat makes zero sense bad as she sounds. The big antifa head on ye

All I did was roll my eyes to heaven as they were passing, she seemed to know who I was but honestly I don't know her from Adam and I wasn't going to descend to a shouting match with her. TBH she came across as a complete flake, her comment about knowing me came across as vaguely threatening. I mentioned the Gardai tongue in cheek as she struck me as someone who had zero respect for authority.

Could be the highest total since the beginning

Excellent. Still stable. Probably 120 ish cases so.

Numbers seem relatively stable but with circa 100 backlogged and 154 positive swabs today, we could be seeing 200+ number today or tomorrow, or even 300+ this coming Tuesday depending on when they release it. Cue mass panic on Facebook

Sorry I've been really busy at work and I've a family to take care of, so unfortunately the formula has been put into retirement for the foreseeable future.

Which I suspect is the reason that several doctors in a Times piece yesterday called for an end to the daily figures and go to a weekly number instead. It would go some way to stopping the panic/doom merchants which are a common feature on SM when high figures are announced.

Just aswell because it seemed irredeemably flawed.
Looking after your family is an admirable priority.

I'm hoping they do this, or at least clear the backlog today. If they wait til Tuesday to announce 300+ cases, there'll be carnage among those already worried/paranoid

Not too flawed, it predicted the 200 cases a few days before, but with variable numbers and complex matrices it's hard to get it all down to an exact science

Need to get 144 or under cases today to keep the seven day average at 105 per day. 59,283 test in the last 6 days is a lot.

Is there any scientific evidence/research to suggest the lower mortality rates relate to a milder strain of the disease? Or that it’s down to the more vulnerable taking extra precautions?

Even a stopped clock can show the right time. Is being on a wind up pleasurable? Genuine question because I don't understand the attraction or motive.
