Quick update for some feedback I recieved here a week or two ago. I was supposed to do the Old Bushmills distillery tour as part of a north Antrim coast day tour. The distillery is closed to visitors for obvious reasons which was a shame.

Instead I followed people's advice and bought a bottle of Black Bush from Tesco up here for 26 pound which is great value.

Also tried to get a drink in the Duke of York in Belfast but unfortunately that is closed too.

It was Dingle single Malt 3rd batch for me tonight. Very creamy.Unusual, but only as I drink Scottish single malts more.
Looking forward to trying the other Dingle releases.

    From Twitter.

Just read that Proper 12 is aged in casks made from pallets robbed from the Crumlin Shopping Centre.

I'm living in USA now and got gifted this for my birthday, haven't tried it yet. Seems like its a US market only brand imported by Total Wine. Anyone know who is distilling it? They also have a 16 yo single malt if that helps.

The normal Bill Phil is a lovely dram. I'll have to track this one down. Great to see more cask strength releases too.

Picked up a bottle of Aerstone 10 Year Old Sea Cask. First time to try it. Very nice. Tasty toffee goodness.

    Worth a punt.

That would have been class! Some rare whiskies, pricey I'd say.

On that, what is redbreast lustau like?

Wasn't gone on it. Very disappointing. It's like they were trying to force a flavour onto it.

A hundred pounds which was cheap for what you got. To think I would have turned my nose up at smokey whisky a couple of years ago!

    Interesting.

Is that repackaged Cooley or Bushmills, I wonder?

Description on the 46% bottling is "double distilled single malts and peated triple distilled single malts with soft grain"

Cooley; or self-blended from multiple sources.

We’ll definitely can’t be Bush as you’ve identified.
Peated suggest Connemara/Innisowem stock from Cooley. But I think they are double distilled.

    Could be something like the below;
    https://www.celticwhiskeyshop.com/New-Make-Triple-Distilled-Peated-Single-Malt-Cask-Great-Northern-Distillery

Also seen they were raising funds online. $1m for 7%. Some valuation that. I imagine Suntory got a much better deal for their $3m.

No, it's produced to order for them. It is very much their own design.
I'm not at liberty to say where.

Bill phil is sourced from great northern. Could be the same here?

I'd take a guess that Mellor has found the source there... so probably John Teeling's new life rather than his old one!
