All that brought on by a person's choice to drink, to smoke, to eat what they want. Nobody is asking to catch this virus.

I think I need drink to understand that an awful lot of drink.

When they start doing that it’s a great idea - well if actually understands what it means of course.

There's a difference between getting lung cancer in your late fifties because of something you did yourself and knew was a risk and getting thrombosis in your thirties because you were not adequately informed of the risks associated with an airborne virus and were made to take risks by employers/misinformed by your country's health officials.

There’s more golfers being struck by lighting annually then people in their thirties ending up getting thrombosis from covid (unless you believe the media fear porn reports which are anecdotal at best)

It's their 14 day average, with these kind of numbers it should start to drop.

Status of the Kildare lockdown not even mentioned on RTÉ talk about government lackkies. So the drunken sailors on shore leave that are NPHET ignore figures again they really are power mad.

Dr Glynn says 8 people have been hospitalised with #Covid19 here in the last 24 hours.

“This weekend it is vital that people play their part by decreasing social contacts. Do not drop your guard just because you are meeting people close to you."

They choose to go golfing in bad weather.

    Extra dumb

Tipperary 14 day is now higher than Kildare was when it was put into lockdown... no mention of that from anyone in NHPET tho

Has been dropping, quite a lot, as the high numbers were from 14 days ago. With a number as low as today's Kildare will drop well below the 50/100,000 mark over 15 days, and quite probably under Tipps number

It already has well below 50 now in a properly run country like Germany that would trigger relief from lockdown. Here it gets ignored.

Because the extension only expires next week, so will be lifted then if the trend continues.

NPHET only meet twice a week. Look to next Thursday for Kildare. Think Tipp cases are around a meat plant.

its was specifically mentioned yesterday during the briefing, Glynn said that because most of cases came from a specific known source it wasn't the same as what kildare became.

Sure... let it run for another 9 days... I mean, it is just local businesses going to the wall while we wait.

Germany are now looking at more restrictions as their cases rise. We also know that any period of restrictions is not foreshortened here so that they can get the maximum effect out of them.

Yes Indeed that is true but why is that is set in stone then? Did the drunken sailor say just the other day they want to normalise Kildare as quickly as possible. Or did he just tell Kildare TD,s total BS so as he would not actually have to justify his action.

Depends on your viewpoint I guess, personally can’t wait until the government falls and SF get a majority. They cannot do worse TBH

Oh very true but there is clarity in what they do and why. They are far from perfect but they are open and that’s fair. The BS we have to put up with is just a killer mentally

What's the average length of stay in hospital due to this? Surely has decreased recently?

Hospitalizations are building but no increase in ICU really. Maybe those hospitalised are testing positive in hospital?

    Why isn't anyone dying?

Ours is clear too as long as you listen to the CMO & crew. The new government have not done well on communication. I agree on the mental side of things but it does look like Kildare will come out of it at the end of next week based on current numbers. That's 5 working days or 9 sleeps!

127 cases is highest number on a Friday since early May.

5 day average 125 cases per day. (111 yesterday)
7 day average 120 cases per day (113 yesterday)
14 day average 116 cases per day (112 yesterday)

Not good on the case numbers although with the high amount of testing going on we are hopefully picking up as much as the virus as possible out there. Good news that's it's a 6th in a row with no reported deaths.
