About 8-9 counties driving cases at the moment according to that map

Would be intersting alright to get the totals linked to those outbreaks in the last few weeks.

I doubt we will. They trying to shift the blame/focus on to the public all while ignoring the massive factory outbreak figures.

Dr Glynn basically saying no other local restrictions planned given the current in place measures

True but still it's only one sports club

Their stats would want to be a lot bigger than that to justify pulling the plug on all crowds
I'd say it was more a case of heading it off before it became a more widespread issue.

Have a look on the dashboard, numbers currently in hospital have gone from 8 at the start of the month to 29 today and trending upwards and will be as the 14 day case average increases. It's a worring trend.

ICU numbers dropping though, so how serious are these hospital cases.

Looks like schools are going to have a completely different approach to any other workplace when someone goes home with symptoms of Covid. I'm seriously thinking there's some kind of experiment or deliberate tactic of infection going on in the schools.

Serious enough that they are in hospital. Even if they were not serious, the more beds being used is bad news heading into the winter.

unbelievable how some people are that stupid to work with symptoms.

Any symptoms stay the fcuk at home

I can understand it if you are poorly paid or self employed

They're saying the positivity rate is 2%, are we being given different info on the dashboard? They must be including private testing figures

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,395 ✭✭✭GazzaL

A few people have said it's torture wearing masks while they have a cold. It causes their noses to run more and eyes to water.

Yea but what are they in hospital from? Direct result of catching covid? We're only hearing half the story.

Would that be the 14 day positivity rate? 1.5% is the7 day rate.

Ok can you accept the virus does not seem to be as deadly as we were told last February or March, when we were told 20% would probably need to be hospitalised. Its good news, why are we so afraid of good news.

They need to be honest about Pubs & just tell it straight that it is unlikely they will open this year heading into the winter months where transmission will most likely go up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,450 ✭✭✭✭stephenjmcd

Next 2 weeks is schools and seeing the impact of current restrictions.

They'll look at pubs as expected after that.

Where have this few said that?

Just as well they're wearing masks though.

Can we put the government in lockdown in the mountains of Connemara somewhere? Then we can elect a new government who aren't full of charlatans, half-wits, liars and idiots.

As far as I know the highest single day positivity rate was 1.9%, so it shouldn't be 2%
