I hope not because there would be an uproar on here if one bottle got smashed or missing between now and 17:30. ;-)

What's the current wait time for testing does anyone have any idea? And how long is the current wait for results?

Don't really have any symptoms as such but am feeling very tired the last 3/4 days, like unusually tired. Due to start a job working in a classroom with 31 pupils next week so might be something to consider

Unlikely you’d get referred for testing without any of the stated symptoms.

How many dublin beers? I would be keeping them in their own fridge at this stage tbh.

They would definitely be referred, if they want to. I can't see many GPs refusing a test referral to someone about to place themselves in a school environment and starting to feel run down.

Stress can take it out of you, it might be back of the mind thoughts taking their toll either. It wouldn't be unusual for me to become deflated heading back to work after a lot of time off.

Current typical time from referral to appointment is 24 hours.

Typical time from swab to result is 28-31 hours.

Call your GP today, you should have a test tomorrow. You should have a result then before Monday.

Tiredness might not be enough though. If you're not feeling achey or have any other symptoms you'll be told to go to bed.

I know someone who was almost a close contact within last two weeks ie they were in close contact just outside the time window. They could not get a test as public health deemed them not to be at risk and GP cannot refer without symptoms.

Good news... about 150 jobs for Limerick on news today .

Regeneron, starting to work on antibody treatments for Covid .

I think that's fair enough, as they would have been asked to self isolate anyway and therefore no threat but we definitely need to be getting our teachers/SNA's priority testing, if they feel off. We could ask them to self isolate but it may be an unnecessary waste of school resource.

Is it tomorrow due to find out if normal pubs can open ahead of 31st? I can't see them opening with current cases plus schools just opening. Will push it out another few weeks I'd say.

So what will happen if teachers or snas will be identified as a close contact of a confirmed case and they need to isolate? Will school principals have a selection of back up people to step in and help?

From a primary school pov, if it is a class teacher, a sub will be got but they are like goldust so the Learning Supoort teacher will replace teacher. The only issue there is if the LS teacher has to isolate then. If the SNA is gone there is no one in my school to replace him or her.

If no replacement can be got the class could be sent home.

My school is one of 16 schools comprised of at least 700 teachers and we have been allocate 4 sub teachers to cover absences for the 16 schools

Have to look up the WIN reference for you .
It has more recent data and shows uptake in acute hospitals among nurses and doctors has gone up further to above 70% mostly .

This is for the previous year 2018 and 2019 on HSPC
Shows an improvement but some hospital groups not pushing vaccine as much as others
Where I work it is heavily pushed and occ health visit every area over a few weeks in September/ October , and there are also peer vaccinators for those who miss the push or are ill or on leave when it is happening .
Message to take is frontline staff are generally vaccinated unless there is a good reason not to be , but everyone needs reminding :)

They weren’t asked to self isolate and their work brought them into contact with public. They worked with person on Tuesday and positive swab was taken on Thursday. No test and no self isolation advised.

I wonder are people claiming to have symptoms so they don't have to go to work/school?

Seems to be so high. Good thing is the positive to test ratio is lowering though.

I know someone who tried that and they work in the HSE at an admin level.

Turned out it was streptococcal pharyngitis and they were annoyed it wasn't covid.

There does actually seem to be something going around. My kids were fairly sick for a few days 2 weeks ago, then the mother got it. Nothing for me thankfully. Kind of regret not going getting them tested though

I was in bits with a flu around Patricks day, unbearable cough, aches everywhere, temperature, never got tested though was told to isolate
