You realise the US has a federal system?
Trump can't do anything about the fact that California is driving people away in droves with exorbitant taxes and turning San Francisco into "tent city" by allowing mentally ill hobos to camp and shoot up heroin wherever they like.
Trump can't control policing in America's major cities all of which are Democrat run.

So why is he campaigning on the vague notion that he can do something about it, Law and Order, etc?

The Ferguson riots happened under Obama's watch. The riots never became widespread because Obama was very good at placating the BLM radicals with despicable demagoguery. Such as when he said "Trayvon Martin could have been my son." and in the UN speech where he talked about American racism and a "little town called Ferguson" where Michael Brown was supposedly shot while saying "hands up, don't shoot!" A complete fabrication.

Because Obama listened to everyone, even people who showed up to his rallies to heckle. So of course he, as a leader, addressed the riots, and lead them to a peaceful resolution. Trump, meanwhile, teargassed the clergy and glorifies the use of violence against protesters.
Obama's own DOJ found the Michael Brown shooting was completely justified yet Democrats to this day maintain the Ferguson lie.

Do you have a source that says the DOJ said it was "completely justified?" Nevermind that the prosecutor, responsible for needing to argue charges against the officer, having a clear conflict of interest: Robert Mulloch's father was a cop who was killed in the line of duty in an incident involving a black man.
Polls have shown Americans were significantly less optimistic about race relations after Obama's presidency than before it.

    There's nothing neutral about it.

A Republican president is the only excuse Democrats need to start tearing cities up.

Presumably you can point to all the cities that Democrats tore up under Bush Jnr, Bush Snr, Reagan etc. all republican presidents. Please list them out here.

It was not neutral at all. It was political opportunism by using the power of the office at a political event, which breaches the law. If it was purely neutral why do it at a political event and not last week or next week or any other much more appropriate time?

Brilliant response from Bernie: "If only it were true" that Biden was a socialist

Can you list out what you believe are her socialist solutions? Republicans accuse her of advocating socialism and communism while not understanding what either are. And to be honest most people who bang on about socialism actually don't know what socialism is and just use it as a buzzword.

You'll get nothing from Eric. He's a talking points guy not a details guy.

California's still beautiful. You won't get to see the good stuff on Fox news. Kimberly Guilfoyle was fine with being Mrs. Gavin Newsom when he was a prominent pol in San Francisco, btw.
Then why are people leaving in droves?

LA and San Francisco have become almost unliveable in the last 20 years because the Democrats thought it would be a good idea to give mentally ill people the right to set up camp in public and shoot heroin on people's doorsteps.

What, exactly, was shown that was optimistic? Job numbers? Covid death statistics? Deficits?
Job numbers under Trump were the best they'd ever been before, you know, a once in a century pandemic screwed up the world economy.

With regard to COVID, it baffles me how nobody understands that the US is a federal republic. The first responsibility for acting on COVID always rested on state governors. The only significant actions the US President could take was to shut down incoming air travel from foreign countries and use Federal resources to supplement state resources where necessary both of which he did (as acknowledged by many Democrat governors.) When things were at their worst in New York, even Andrew Cuomo acknowledged how obliging Trump was. It was never Trump's job to implement specific lockdown measures in states.

By the way, seven out of the top ten states in terms of death rates per capita are run by Democrats. All the hysteria over Florida, Texas and Georgia was fake news. Those states were 17th, 15th and 20th respectively. Meanwhile, Cuomo got away with shipping elderly folk back into nursing homes after they tested positive.

Deficits? Unfortunately neither party cares about deficits and its a non-issue for the American people.

Yes, Biden condemns violence. Shocking, I know, we are always hearing about how he is ideologically sympatico with Joe Stalin or whatever

Looking at the population of both, I don't see anywhere in the last 20 years where there is any decline in population, there is only population growth. So what are you talking about?

It's a right wing talking point. Like most right wing talking points it has no basis in reality.

Yeah, it's always someone else's fault, never the leader of the actual country.

Now back in the real world.

Job numbers are now one of the worst in history.

Trump lied, deflected and downplayed the pandemic from the very start and still is.
He is the leader, he is meant to show leadership, he has failed.
The voters won't judge governors on the pandemic, they will judge the president.

No one cares that the deficit is 3 TRILLION?

DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE REPORT REGARDING THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION INTO THE SHOOTING DEATH OF MICHAEL BROWN BY FERGUSON, MISSOURI POLICE OFFICER DARREN WILSON

"As detailed throughout this report, the evidence does not establish that the shots fired by Wilson were objectively unreasonable under federal law."

"There are no witness accounts that federal prosecutors, and likewise a jury, would credit to support the conclusion that Wilson fired at Brown from behind. With the exception of the two wounds to Brown’s right arm, which indicate neither bullet trajectory nor the direction in which Brown was moving when he was struck, the medical examiners’ reports are in agreement that the entry wounds from the latter gunshots were to the front of Brown’s body, establishing that Brown was facing Wilson when these shots were fired. This includes the fatal shot to the top of Brown’s head. The physical evidence also establishes that Brown moved forward toward Wilson after he turned around to face him. The physical evidence is corroborated by multiple eyewitnesses."

Expect Rittenhouse to be wished luck any day now. He's an American hero now to certain Republicans.

He drove across state lines from Illinois to be there and killed two people.

no idea if his intention was to kill. I don't know much about the story but is it just the two who chased him down the street during the riots that he shot , does the state have open carry and stand your ground laws ?

would love to know what prompted the chase, I certainly wouldn't chase somebody with a gun.

I think we'll see some posters defending those shootings in the thread shortly. The guy has a spree shooter vibe.

Oh it's happened. He didn't own the gun, he's literally recorded saying he'll use lethal force. The state does not have stand your ground laws and it's illegal to open carry if you're under 18.

He also has a very "excusable" appearance. Definitely not the type to break the law and commit a crime! National hero saving America from communism.

You need to be 18 to open carry in WI. And illegally carried the weapon across the state line. Everything he did is aggravated by the fact he was already behaving illegally.

Where did he get the gun , well theres a rightful conviction in it for him then so.

would still love to know why he was being chased though. In my experience its a certain type of mad person chases somebody with a gun.

To be very clear him having the gun was illegal and I do not condone the shooting.

He has been arrested and charged with 1st degree intentional homicide. So it it would appear law enforcement believe it certainly was intentional.

Strange how some posters appear to be far more lenient when it's a seventeen year old white teen shooting blm protesters..
