well this is getting more interesting by the minute. SO they have better ppe than us and have actually put effort into their kids going back meanwhile we have Norma missing in action and no online curriculum and a taoiseach who is acting as Min for Agriculture and Education it looks like.

Love the one news clip of Norma blushing and rushing for the door , was it 10 days ago ?

There is also a theory that restrictions can result in a stronger Virus, as if it is being suppressed, less mutations are happening, therefore a lower chance of a less serious strain emerging, or even if it does it quickly dies out and doesn't become the dominant strain

Looking good in hospitals at the moment given level of cases last few weeks

Probably just some one ordering coke and got it sent to their work address instead of their home address.

The virus doesn't weaken. It is possible strong selective pressure due to restrictions has resulted in random mutations of the virus which create a less serious reaction in those infected is becoming more prevalent. Its not the virus weakening however, its adapting to a more hostile environment. In this scenario however the more serious "strains" also remain in circulation, and without mapping the genones you would not know which version an individual may have. There is also nothing to prevent a random mutation making one of the "weaker" strains more deadly

Under 40's that have recovered are now starting to present with myocardial disease. Prof Robert Byrne of Mater private confirms cases of inflammation of heart tissue in younger patients.
So much for this only being dangerous to older people. I think we have alot to learn about this disease , only a flu ....

Double digits again I wonder how many tests were done? I reckon we'll have 500 cases a day before October

Except that people who have recovered from influenza can also present with myocardial disease.

The question is not whether people who have recovered from covid can have complications but whether this happens at a greater rate than e.g. glandular fever, influenza, swine flu etc., etc.

Round-the-clock news stories confirming every single person who has had complications afterwards don't make this more likely, this just psychologically amplifies the danger of covid.

ACE will have the testing data later I'm sure

I don't think you'll be right about 500 cases a day before October

    Based on what?

Our average is gradually going up and with that, the rate of growth usual grows with it.

With community transmission so high in our capital, the odds aren't out of this world but I wouldn't go as high as 500. I reckon we'll see 300 in one day before October though.

Over a million students now moving back and forth to school daily, along with their parents won't help matters.

Its good he is predicting that much, every prediction has been wrong so far and i cant see anything changing in the future.
