You got called out for posting garbage.

Society becomes more open and liberal by the decade.
You or I cannot change that.

You are confusing traditional liberalism ( which died around 2005 ) with leftism/ cultural marxism. They couldn't be any different.

Perhaps you're too young to remember but they were much better times, for the reason I outlined.

    When were there better times?
We have never had it so good.

Bad ones don't. They create more problems than they solve. Better off homeschooling.

Of course he has, the only other option would be mass lay-offs within federal and state administration, which is politically untenable.

The "only other option"? He didn't have to unbalance the budget further by giving tax breaks to the super rich in a growing economy.

Economics 101 - tax breaks to the most productive areas of the economy increases productivity and creates more jobs.

This means the government doesn't have to create more pointless jobs in the civil service in order to employ people.

Make sense? You wont find that in Das Kapital - Marx never worked a day in his life.

What happened in 2005 to cause that shift?

There's also that uncomfortable fact that these people seemingly never want to discuss or acknowledge, which is that the 'golden era' of the US to which you are referring was largely built on socialist policies.

The chances that President Donald Trump wins re-election in 2020 is near certain, according to a political science professor whose election model has a history of correctly predicting election results.

If you ignore the fact that the person making the prediction has been correct only 83% of the time. He's a B grade predictor in that respect.

The chances that President Donald Trump wins re-election in 2020 is near certain, according to a political science professor whose election model has a history of correctly predicting election results.

There are 4 of these "Predictors" around that have been accurate almost all of the time and who all called it for Trump in 2016.

This time around, two of them are predicting a Biden win, a third is not giving a prediction saying that their model doesn't really work given Covid etc. and then there is Norpoth.

The Norpoth model is based explicitly on "enthusiasm" in the Primaries. So on the basis that turnout and win % was higher for Trump than Biden he gives the nod to Trump.

His prediction was made in January and he refuses to update it to account for all that has happened since.

Norpoth doesn't think that the deaths of 175,000 people and counting since he made his prediction is really relevant.

So, despite his previous accuracy I'm not really putting a whole lot of faith in a model that ignores the most significant Global event in decades.

Looks like Ive hit a nerve among the communists/ leftists, who historically tend not to like views different to their own. Fingers off that cancel button chaps! Maybe I should be grateful I'm not being sent off to the gulag.

Its not really about Trump vs Biden. They are both imperfect men. Rather, its a problem of leftist values vs the free market. Clearly the free market is by far a superior ideology. It does occasionally need some socialist input/ agitation..but left to its own devices it makes life better for everyone, once they are prepared to do their bit.

Over the past 10/15 years, there has been too much leftist deterioration in America which has been exported to the rest of the world. This has partly been manifested by the likes of Antifa/ BLM. It may also have resulted in Trump being elected, who at the time was an inexperienced candidate, ordinarily this would have discounted any appeal. That speaks to how much the Democrats had deteriorated. But look at him now. Hes up to speed, thick skinned, dealing with attackers on multiple fronts and doing a great job.

On the basis of leftist vs free market/ traditional American values, its very important Trump and the republicans get re-elected - for sake of the US and the rest of the world, especially here in Ireland.

Otherwise the nihilistic rot of leftism will continue to gather pace, IMHO.

You must be one of these leftists then? Since Trump is such a big proponent of tariffs which is the opposite of a free market policy.

The 2 Trillion covid bailout, is that a free market policy also?

He also bailed out US farmers to the tune of billions of dollars as a result of his disastrous trade war with China (basically the antithesis of a free market approach). He forced General Motors to produce ventilators by taking control of their means of production....how communist of him. Not to mention sending welfare cheques out to pretty much every household in the country. It seems Trumpists don't really pay much attention to the stuff he actually has done.

    No no no no no

The man was talking, got distracted by a mosquito and went on a rant about seals and sharks.

If that had been Biden we would have had wall to wall posts about it accusing Biden of dementia, Trump does it and its considered "charming"

Do you even know what that word means?
    charming

    /ˈtʃɑːmɪŋ/

    adjective

    very pleasant or attractive.

    "a charming country cottage"

I think he is, he's a tonic to the chaos and rudeness of Trump.

I disagree. I could never see Trump coming across as genuinely warm and compassionate as Biden does here:

Social media became popular , virtue signalling and ‘progressive’ thought became popular and drove advertising revenue. Advertisers keen to throw their oar in on what kind of content they wanted their ads next to and social media sites responding in kind to kill things advertisers didnt like. Traditional media print/tv hitting its peak and starting the decline which in turn caused them to replicate the same faux outrage / virtue signalling advertisers wanted to see online.

We now have traditional media and social media trying to outdo each other making the millenial and gen z generations feel warm and fuzzy and like their half baked new ideas on politics / economics and immigration are somehow correct, all at the behest of media providers grabbing a slice of the advertising budget of some large corporations who behave like crap in the background (nike sweatshops etc..) but want to be ‘ #blm #feminism #whateverThisWeek we’re your friend 18-30 year old woman with 1000 twitter followers’

I think that if you actually cared about this, you wouldn't be posting snarky comments.

Shall we discuss the various awful things Trump has done? Even as of late, he didn't care that 170k people had died... Then there's separating children from their parents. But the sharks thing was "charming"...

I really think he's a great guy and part of your dislike of him is a result of the propoganda of the mainstream media. He's not perfect but certainly charming
