All after school activities have been effectively cancelled in most schools anyway, but this new "6 to a class" rule has effectively killed off any that were going ahead with strong controls in place.

They absolutely did not think this through.

I was more aghast at the idea that the school said they can't have more than 6 people in their building 8)

    Guessing insurance company dictated that.

Unless they wanted it this way but just not calling it a lockdown.

How about an ounce of common sense, nothing to say you have to have windows and doors open all day every day. Surely educators are capable of knowing a simple thing about when it's appropriate to open a window

You've tried so so hard to hide your anti-teacher agenda with your lovely shiny new username but you just cannot help yourself. Look at some of the posts you thank for example. I actually respected you at the end when you quit before but tbh, you're back on true form.

    Laughable really.

Well you clearly know nothing about it, so there's a good chance many teachers won't either.

I believe it's lacking from our official advice (the initial publication said it WAS NOT an airborne virus), but many agencies around the globe are strongly suggesting or insisting that windows and doors be left open.

Otherwise you see, there'll be an outbreak and schools will shut.

Stop rolling your eyes at people, please

So the subs for primary school is working out well. My school is one of a group of 16 schools and we have been given a share in 4 teachers during the year to cover abscences in all 16 schools.

Any idea how many teachers the four subs are expected to cover? I’m hearing stories of four subs for upto four hundred teachers.

Well there are 60 teachers in my school and a lot of the other schools are of a similar size, so conservative estimate 700 teachers maybe

Frightening, considering that teacher absenteeism is going to be at absolute record highs.

I think all educators realise it is every man/woman for themselves at this stage.

I know what I'm doing anyway. My health is my priority.

No point doing any support plans or IEPs this year. You'll spend your year jumping from class to class covering absences.

I believe a number of schools are informing parents that a situation may arise where children have to stay at home when there is no cover for a class

Can schools use facial recognition software to store to children's data or daily temperature?

I have to do them but also will have to cover yard duty and staggered entrances and exits along with class abscences.

Don’t bother your backside. There wont be an inspector to be seen with this ****storm going ahead and 95% of paperwork is just for the inspector.

I feel like this has been said a million times, but why is blended learning not what's happening? I know lack of IT in schools is an issue, but it is one that can be overcome.

What about this scenario that I see being suggested more and more on social media.

    Primary -
Any child that has additional needs or there is no childcare option for parents can send their children to school every day. Blended learning for everyone else. Even four days in school and one day online would reduce class sizes each day.

    Secondary -
Pretty much the same, but as there are no childcare issues more can do blended learning. Again, any student that needs to be in fulltime for whatever reason should be in school every day.

Just cross posting this from the main thread. Here are the symptom combinations of 6600 Australians who tested positive for covid. I'm not sure how your are supposed to identify people who could be ill. There red circles indicate those without fever (yellow).

We’re working on getting hot water and paper towels to every school in the country. I think facial recognition software will have to wait!

We are sheep being led to slaughter by a pack of crazy wolves (varadker and Michael)

God help us, our families, the children and their families.

When the first teacher dies they’ll say “she had underlying health conditions”

    :(

Does anyone know what the story is regarding staff meetings for teachers?

Are teachers expected not to comply with the 6 people in a room rule?
