Obviously we're still waiting on fixtures, but no harm in throwing this thread up now

    My first semi-serious draft:

    Ryan (Button)
    TAA Doherty Vinagre (Dallas, 4.0)
    KdB Son Pulisic Greenwood (4.5)
    Ings Jimenez Antonio

.5 in the bank so Ings or Jimenez could become Martial. Obviously missing some big hitters but overall it doesn't feel bad to me. Kdb auto captain for many games. Martial (should I get him) another good captain option especially for home games. TAA/Son/Pulisic/Jimi etc. might cover the odd one. No Bruno despite me being adamant I'd get him! Though Martial + Greenwood definitely represent better value I think. Thoughts appreciated

Is Pulisic going to be fully fit for the start of the season with his hamstring gone recently?

Will Greenwood have a game in week one if Man. Utd. are still playing in Europe now?

Could bench Greenwood gw1. Not sure about Pulisic but I'd imagine he'll be back by then

Looks solid for first draft, I’d probably go for Taylor or Pieters from Burnley over Viangre, as you also have Doherty. Also, maybe downgrade one of Ings or Antonio to try and fit in another big hitter in midfield?

    Going for the following:

    McCarthy (Ryan)

    TAA AWB Taylor (Vinagre Branthwaithe)

    KDB Bruno Rashford McGinn (Gordon)

    Werner Mitrovic Wood

The keepers alternate nicely, I expect Liverpool and Utd to have decent-ish defences and there's also the chance of some attacking returns. Taylor and Vinagre are cheaper versions but similar justification. Rashford is a placeholder till Pulisic is fit and the front 3 are hopefully semi reliable goalscorers.

First stab at this, feels pointless without knowing the fixtures but here goes.

    McCarthy-Nyland

    TAA-KWP-Taylor-Ferguson-Braithwaite

    KDB-PEA-Salah-Soucek-Gordon

    Werner-Adams-Wood

Can't see me starting with double Southampton defence but no other 4.5 keeper jumping out at me.

That's some midfield. I didn't know who to get from Salah/Sterling/Mane so went for none.
I certainly can't go for the uber troll PEA anyway.
Looks like a solid team though.

    First of many:

    Mccarthy Ryan

    TAA Taylor Vinagre Saliba Branthwaithe

    Kdb Fernandes Pulisic Greenwood Foden

    Werner Austin Wood

It’s only a draft but it looks strange not seeing Salah in the line up. Greenwood a definite as long as United don’t sign Sancho. Foden is a place holder for now. No doubt this will be changed umpteen times between now and start of the season

  • Registered Users Posts: 641 ✭✭✭joeyboy11

    Ryan (button)

    TAA, Vinagre, Taylor, Dallas, (Ferguson)

    Salah, KDB, Greenwood, Foden (Gordon)

    Aguero, Werner (Keinan Davis)

    First draft I’d 442

A little punty with Aguero and Werner up top but I think they are underpriced and have very high ceilings.

Greenwood (if united don’t sign Sancho) and Foden feel like they are too much value for money not to have.

    Any thoughts welcome

Looks like Davis will go out on loan

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

My team is with the assumption that Wolves/City/United don't play GW1

    Leno

    TAA Aurier Robbo Mee

    Soucek Aubameyang Ziyech Salah

    Antonio Werner

    Steer Gordon Branthewaite Wickham(Placeholder)

Will definitely change it a million times.

But I think putting myself in defense I can rely on myself.

Get Button instead of Steer, he is 2nd choice behind Ryan.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,862 ✭✭✭Pogue eile

    McCarthy, Steer

    TAA, Saliva, Peters, Vinagre, Braithwaite

    KDB, Salah, Son, Pulisic, Gordon

    Martial, Wood, Bamford

First draft, obviously subject to fixtures and whims etc.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,906 ✭✭✭claw

    Pope Button
    Taylor Bardsley TAA Doherty Justin
Salah Bruno De Bruyne Foden Dendoncker
    Austin Mitrovic Antonio

First draft but I imagine that I will be having a stronger midfield than attack this season. Not seeing many bargains there at the moment.

  • Registered Users Posts: 152 ✭✭dicky dunne

Subject to a lot of change..

    Ederson (4.0)

    TAA VVD Egan Braitwaite Taylor

    Salah Foden, Greenwood McGinn Stephens

    Aguero Kane Connolly

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,775 ✭✭✭bmorrissey

    Pope - McCarthy
TAA - Douglas - Laporte - Walker Pieters - Saiss
Salah - Fernandes - Son - Saint Maximin - Stephens
    Mitrovic - Antonio - Jimenez

Still gonna be changed "X" amount of times before kickoff

People reckon Ake will get regular gametime with city this year? might swap him for Laporte possibly and save up the 0.5m

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,228 ✭✭✭✭gammygils

    McCarthy, Ryan
    VVD,Egan,Soy,Braithwaite, Pieters
    Salah, KDB Bruno Soucek, Dendonker
    Martial, Wood, Adams

My 3rd draft. 1st has TAA, Jimi, Pope and a few others
    Still a WIP

I'm guessing Laporte gets more game time than Ake but with Pep it is really just a guess.

Only City player I think I'll go with is De Bruyne.

    Currently on:

    McCarthy
    Vinagre, Alexander-Arnold, Pieters
Aubameyang, Fernandes, De Bruyne, Saint-Maximin, Soucek
    Kane, Mitrovic

    Ryan, Walker-Pieters, Lamptey, Wickham

    Any advice on improvements appreciated.

    Martinez - 4.0
    TAA - Egan - Vingare - KWP - 4.0
    Salah - Sterling - Auba - Grealish - 4.5
    Jimi - JRod - 4.5

McCarthy in for Martinez if he isn’t number one.
Werner in for Jimi possibly and downgrade Egan to 4.5m.
Hard to resist going big on midfielders!

    Henderson - Nyland

Trent - Mings - Egan - Doherty - Walker Peters

Saka - De Bruyne - Fernandes - Marhez - Romeu

    Jimenez - Martial - Davis

Will probably chop and change a bit before the season kicks off

So many good options at 4.5m in defence that going 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 feels hard to ignore.

Honestly wouldn't have Grealish his returns where awful post covid. Bar the goal he scored last day of the season.

I'd downgrade Grealish to Traore at 6.5M that allows for your Jimi to Werner
    whilst also have Wolves coverage.

I recommend Gordan as your 4.5M midfielder.

Obviously waiting on fixtures but think I'll be going a bit different this year (may well be tempate)

    4-5-1

    McCarthy

    TAA | Vinagre | Dallas | KWP

    KDB | Auba | Salah | Greenwood | Soucek

    Jimi

Subs: Button, Ferguson (or 4.0 DF), Brewster should he go on loan, McGoldrick (playing cheap FW)

McCarthy and Button: Set and forget Keepers, may change to other 4.5.

TAA will be essential IMO and 4.5 DF's are in abundance. Starting DF's at Wolves and Southampton looks strong on paper and Leeds seem to be well set up under Bielsa. Ferguson seems to be a good choice cheap 4.0.

Auba an expensive MF but ultimately he's OOP and should return well. KDB and Salah are my 2 premium mids to have every week, only injury/suspension they'll be out. Greenwood could be a real steal if no Sancho, again pretty much OOP. Lots of talk on Soucek, great end of season, hoprefully carries into next season.

Jimi is Jimi, might swap for Martial and downgrade Greenwood to Traore but we'll see. Feels better Jimi & Greenwood. McGoldrick a cheap FW option won't return but guaranteed(ish) 2 points should someone be dropped. Brewster the 4.5 FW to watch if he can get a loan move elsewhere.

Allows me some manouevre to get another City/Liverpool player in should they start on fire. And being able to upgrade Jimi and downgrade Midfield kind of easily too.

    Appreciate any feedback.

Didnt take me as long as i taught, but have settled on this team

    McCarthy, Ryan

    Dunk, Ajayi, Pieters, Ayling, Bednarek

    Fernandes, Mane, Mahrez, Pereira, Traore

    Werner, Mitrovic, Ings

Could change depending if/where Liverpool send some of our squad players like Wilson and Brewster

Team seems similar to many first thought processes then McGinn appears left field! :D Like the the AWB pick nicely at 5.5 always good for bonus maybe assist.

On the McGinn pick. There is a fella same price (5.5) who is often overlooked Westwood. Real steady eddy and set and forget. Noticed in tight games always in mix for bonus when watching live. Can deliver fk in box or corner. Wish he was 5.0!

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Yep, I'm liking that team and template. I'm going 4-4-2, possibly 4-5-1 if needs be. Definitely no need for 3 playing forwards - options are so bad! One other option is Salah to Son and a defender to Robertson....this decision will be a hard one to make.

Not bad at. Personally would go Foden instead of Mahrez and used cash elsewhere 6.5 v 8.5 if going for cheaper man city mid.

    Ryan (Button)
    TAA-Vinagre-Robertson (Braithraithe, Ferguson)
    Aubameyang(C)-KDB-Rashford-Soucek (Gordon)
    Antonio-Adams-Werner

Decided to gamble on two 4.0 defenders for bench. Figure only need one to land and if does not, not much damage done. Gordon might yet be Stephens. But fairly set on midfield and defence fixture permitting. Up front is where I am unsure.

I think you answered your own questions! Not sure on Dallas. But heard talk about him. Secret to success of going this route is nailing the 4.5 defenders. Jiminez is a good pick as can downgrade or upgrade fairly handy.

Can't see a better option than McGoldrick at his price. Noticed Bamford is highest owned 5.5. If Leeds sign a big name to partner him could be decent?

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.
