    It's just a temporary "pop-up shop".

Are calendars even that popular anymore now that everyone has calendars and reminder tools on their smartphones? Or is the appeal of 12 different photos of Daniel O'Donnell or Justin Bieber still enough to shift vast quantities of them??:confused:

A number of people I know like to get a calendar with large blank (except for date number) boxes per day, so that can fill in appointments & notes for reference.
Even my wife keeps one on the fridge door and makes great use of it.

They are becoming increasingly difficult to find in that form.
Nice scenery pics are a bonus, not a necessity.

I was in chopped on Friday and they had run out of a lot of ingredients, the service was good but they all looked absolutely miserable. I'd hate to see it close as it's one of the few places in town you can get something decent to eat that's not fastfood junk.

Thats what i find too. And the place kinda smelled. Makes me question how fresh the food is if they are understaffed as it is.

Every time I pass chopped, its busy, food is good too, why would it be having problems with food freshness, etc?

Due to some issues described in the above comments. Just to do with understaffed etc i suppose we felt that if they were ok to let the seating area get smelly/dirty i dunno how the hygiene in the kitchen would be

Are ye trying to undermine the place and get it closed?

Yeah fair enough, I've only been there twice so limited experience, both nice as mentioned, it was busy and yeah I'm sure that could have done with more staff when I was there but it could have been the busy time of day and owner just doesn't see need to pay another person for day.

Your just rumour starting now. Hard enough for businesses to keep going. Fair enough if you had bad experience but otherwise why put doubts in people's heads.

Jaysus not necessarily no. I posted about a week ago that i felt sorry for the staff cause one of them told me they are understaffed and dont have enough time to prep etc. It doesn't stop me going there. I still frequent a few times a week. Stop trying to cause an argument. And I highly doubt a chain place is struggling too much.

Not trying to start argument at all. Just that you were worried about freshness etc yet you use it few times a week. Surely you would have by now noticed if stuff wasn't fresh or prepared properly.

Anytime in the last few weeks have been fine it was just a day last week where the cleanliness of the seating area made me question it.

Holland and Barrett are moving to the retail shop across from Bookstation (next to Game Stop) next week. The current shop will be expanded into the empty unit next to it. Wonder if they have someone lined up to take it.

Nandos would be great, not a fan of KFC personally. Surprised there isn't a Milanos in Waterford yet.

"Ramen" in Waterford....that doesnt actually serve any Ramen

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,465 ✭✭✭SweetCaliber

Lol modern day foodhall, worst selection ever.

They could do with bringing burger king back into a new clean space and I'd imagine it would generate some revenue. Nando's would be nice also.

KPMG have said an unnamed retailer plans to re-open a number of Debenhams stores. Hopefully Waterford is one of them.

    Has the store been emptied?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,396 ✭✭✭JohnC.

I don't know if it was entirely, but at least some stock was taken away. Though the display fixtures seem to be visible through the shutters.
