Damn our run of no cases is at an end how many cases anyone know ?

    Shin

With 14 cases across the 9 counties listed, I’d be surprised if it’s more than 1 in Waterford. Hopefully!

not good. we need to go back a step or two and fast.

Over half of cases today and yesterday in Dublin and Kildare. The remainder of the counties, aside from Waterford which is a weird one, are dealing with outbreaks that most are aware of (Limerick, Cork, Clare, Meath especially).

Any insights as to what's gone wrong in Clare recently? Was it that Kilkee party thing, did some major cluster happen or has it just been naturally ticking up? Picked up a lot of cases recently after going so long with none.

you're running out of ways to put a positive spin on this.

I'm assuming it's that. It's linked to Limerick too apparently. Sure Cratloe GAA had 6 players test positive alone.

Yes Limerick and Clare cases seem to be linked to Kilkee party

Well it was inevitable. We did well to last this long. There have been a lot of rumours of a cluster in Waterford. The next few days will be interesting.

Them numbers aren't that drastic. As outlined, they expected variations in numbers this week. 24 for Dublin is an extremely low number per capita

Sick of the merchants of doom here. Between schools, pubs & travel and some other clown having a meltdown about whether or not to go to the Cinema it would drain you.

We need to be more positive and take a pragmatic approach

The concept of living with this and getting on with life remains an abstract reality to some.

Its the fact that its growing rather quickly, this is without schools open and pubs. A few weeks ago 24 cases in one day was very high. Context is needed in this thread. In a few weeks you will have certain posters saying its only 150 cases today. Only a few clusters in schools. The positivity bias and lack of perspective is getting boring now.

With the opening up of restrictions and if you discount the meat factory cases we are doing good.

Trying to get a poster boy New Zealand result is dreamland, they can't even manage it.

So when it goes down tomorrow maybe is that a good thing? Also remember we have increased testing

    Why?

Are you saying the entire country needs to go back to stage 2 or even stage 1?

Take Kildare and Dublin out of the mix and you've got ~40 cases a day for a population of 5 million, entirely sustainable.

Those merchants of doom thrive on misery and bad news, the worst thing that could happen to them is the covid scenario ends.

No it’s not. It went up by over 3 today. 69 last Thursday dropping out, 92 today coming in.

Anything to back that up? Just wondering not seen anything about it.

Would be pure speculation to blame the outdoor gathering in Kilkee last week
