It is a horror story come to life. Absolutely bricking it here. Not sure if it is possible but I think I have watched everything with Duncan Stewart in it online to distract myself.. An hour here and there with Duncan playing in the house, takes the edge off for me anyway

Yeah but its great for my bank balance, I've earned a heap of overtime from it.

We should be careful of scare mongering.
    To be balanced.
Not all crèches seems infected it’s just a small minority (for now)
We must not cause undue panic remember.

My local cinema will be re-opening on the 26th but I have no idea if it is safe to go there.

I'm not concerned for myself but my mother is elderly and my sister's kids have asthma.

Social distancing won't mean much if they have the air conditioning on, will it?

I don't want to do anything hat is a risk.

It was never very busy there but no idea what will happen - people willl either flock there for something to do or stay away.

Cinemas have been open for weeks, they seem fairly safe

I've been a regular cinema goer in Dublin the last few weeks, usually have the cinema to myself and my boyfriend.. so definitely safe!

I must admit I greatly enjoy your replies to anyone who offers a sightly divergent viewpoint.

They simply drip with condescension. Well played Sir!

Yes, how can we be sure.

With everything being closed there has been need to even think about anything. When out with my mother everyone was keeping their distance.

In Dunnes Stores I was moving and because there was no crowds it is a quick in and out.

Two hours in a enclosed space with people breathing and it in circulation around the room seems very different to doing shopping.

Ffs stay at home then. Everything in life involves a little risk. If you don’t feel comfortable in a cinema don’t go there

I always go during the day and since the place has opened it has been a rare occasion that there is ever anybody else in the same room.

I just have a feeling it will get busy there.

I'll either go and be fine or go and then be worried I'm carrying something.

It is occurring to me now that as much as I have read about it al I just don't have a clue.

Cinemas are probably safer than restaurants. Do you have to wear a mask in there while watching, that would bother me a bit as I like to munch on popcorn.

Definitely go though, you have to get out and enjoy the things you can.

I am not the leader of the bandits that raided and burned down your village so why are you so angry at me?

If my questions bother you and you have nothing to contribute then spend your time posting a response.

And also do not use profanity with me even in a nonsense form like that.

Compressed air is the way to go. I’d say there is a gap in the market for anyone who can convert scuba gear for the new normal. BYOA

Yeh and you can be selective with cinemas. I’m gonna go weeks After a big movie is released or at time’s when it’s quiet.

Masks are indeed required. I don't eat at the cinema - can't watch anything at home without food though.

I agree with the last part but not much enjoyment can be had if you aren't enjoying it, if you follow me. :o

Nobody can make a decision for you but if you're analysing every step of a trip to the cinema you're really not expecting to enjoy it. TBH you might be best suited to getting a few more subscriptions for home.

Of course there's risk involved in everything but we know a lot about those risks and can be well.prepared to prevent them.
This is different though because we don't know enough about this virus yet.

Do you have kids? Are you sending them back to school? Is there anybody in your family who they will meet after they go back to school who has underlying conditions? Are they going to visit their grandparents after they go back to school?

You are being told that there's not much risk to kids but this is based on minimal information. There's plenty of information out there to suggest the opposite.

This is taking risks with the unknown. You can't prepare kids for it, you can't prepare to avoid somebody firing a virus out of their body. If it was the flu you could get a flu jab which makes it a lot less likely you'd pick up an infection. There's no cure for this. We now have somebody who got infected for a second time.

I can't believe that anybody is willing to take risks with their or others lives.

It's an old wives' tale that air conditioning causes diseases to circulate around.

Most commercial/industrial HVAC filters out particulate, making the air cleaner than what you're breathing out.

The main issue comes from the fact that conditioned air is very dry, which can make your airways more susceptible to infection.

Recirculated air in a cinema though generally doesn't recirculate any pathogens in the air, especially if it's a decent modern cinema.

As said above, you're probably safer in a cinema than a restaurant.

Vast is not the adjective to use in this context. Vast means huge, so you are saying you want 49.9'% are left with some issues. Tiny would be more appropriate, I'm guessing.

I'm not looking for someone to make a decision and don't know why you think that. Just wanted to see what other people have done themselves and based on the type of response (calm and sensible like yourself and others or if is a rant like someone has done) to see if it made me feel better about going.

Yes I may worry to much to enjoy it but I will know that before I get there.

In principle, I see as a low risk location and would have no issue going but if it's masks all the way I'll pass and go back to home content providers instead.

I have two kids, one of which will now be going into first class. She will more then likely be going back.

She is currently playing with her friends every and see's her grandparents a few times a week.

We've spoken to them and they are happy for her to go back to continue to see her albeit with more social distancing

People will asses risk differently and make a decision based on that assessment

I know most are saying tis grand. But I would not go.
The cinema is one of my top treats. I love it. Way more than eating out or such like. Second only to picnics by the sea!! :) But I would not enjoy being in an enclosed space with no fresh air for 2 hours with random others at the moment. But that's just me. Do what you want and never mind what others say.

So air conditioning is actually a problem.

You also say "generally" which means we don't know.

Its depends on different circumstances. If their is community transmission in your area and you go to the cinema at a peak time. Then its probably high risk. A congregated indoor setting is pretty risky, especillay as the virus is airborne with poor ventilation it could linger in a room for a long time. Mask only mitigate the risk, unsure how beneficial they are in these settings
