It's increasing though and the rate of increase tends to go up as the number of CT cases go up.
He also noted the pointlessness of analysing daily numbers. Trends are what they look at - 5, 7 and 14 days. They seem satisfied with the CT side of things. The concern is still these very large clusters out of the meat plants not spilling over into the community. Glynn also made a comment about living with this for a number of months which means cases anyway. We'll see when the colour codes are finalised.

You've mentioned it twice. It doesn't exist.

    Is that not up?

Sure the percentage is bound to be up after a week or 2 of clusters. The denominator has now reduced. Be better tracking numbers than percentages in this case.

Also these higher numbers over the last fortnight don't seem to be translating into higher hospital admissions for Covid .
That would be alarm bells ringing for me , if that was happening .

Why? Because you don't trust them to self isolate after being told they were tested positive?

No, just think a lot of the cases must be younger or less vulnerable people and that is a good thing !

Absolutely nuts that it was counted like that for so long!

Coincidence that they're "adjusting" their method the same day they've entered the deepest recession on records?

All the conspiracy nutters circle jerking about masks when there's a much larger elephant on offer to them.

An increase in CT is what it is - more people catching the virus outside the initial clusters which were supposed to be containable. There's plenty out there now with it and they don't even know.

Today's positivity rate is 1.3%, one of the lowest in the last week

About the same positivity rate as posters on here then :)

Well it still leaves the uk with over 40,000 deaths officially so 5,000 not being Covid deaths is nothing to shout about. A terrible record given they did lock down.

I think we're individually all way too much into the detail. Way too involved.

    Every single day

No wonder we're all in a perma freakout state. We're down a rabbit hole.

Ah don't get me wrong that information should be available. Not sure it should be the main news item and talking point every single day in all that detail.

    Over 14 days

    150 cases Dublin
    70 in Laois

Dublin while having a larger population has more high density living. Surely a lockdown for Dublin would be important if it’s considered for Laois?

Dublin cases per thousand are a lot less than Kildare Offaly Laous atm .
