The movie is still on. Not sure what they are playing at.
    Taoiseach due to speak

Is it on the internet anywhere, I'd lol if he lockdowns Dublin, maybe we've to wear masks watching Netflix at home now.

The clusters getting bigger means the virus is spreading and people are still getting infected. The only difference is they know where it's spreading from and even then they will never be able to trace everywhere those known infected have been

It also means that a large section of the population is failing at the measures that were brought about to control the spread of this:
    Hand washing
    Cough and sneeze etiquette
    Social distancing
    Keeping close contacts low
    Avoiding crowds

    Yeah, well, fcuk the Telegraph.

That isn't a mature response to the reporting of government figures re deaths caused by lockdown, and its not appropriate to sulk.

Lots of people have been asking for explanations of the rise in excess deaths in the UK. Many posters wanted to fold the excess deaths numbers into the total for covid and bump it up. That now appears to have been a wrong assumption. See also the Guardian link I posted.

There's a big difference between grabbing a pint of milk in centra than wandering around Tesco for a hour.
They shouldn't be mandatory in all settings as they are a danger to everyone if being used incorrectly which they are. People are going into shops and putting them on inside after pulling them out of their pocket, that's redicilous carry on.

    Stupidity has no bounds.

Theres so many people here clinging onto large asymptomatic spread within the population, that's there's people walking around with this virus and they are all doing great and it's just a little cold.
If these workers were taking paracetamol to hide some high temperature readings, were they truly asymptomatic? It doesn't bode too well for self isolation, doing the right thing for the greater good and for community transmissions.

 Why would someone take paracetamol if they are asymptomatic.

    asymptomatic meaning

medical : having or showing no symptoms of disease

Are there still any outstanding test results from the meat factories? Or are there more to come?

Uk made a complete cock up of their management of COVID and the health services. We on the other hand have fewer excess deaths than COVID deaths, suggesting there was no major impact on continuation of emergency and acute services

If they were taking paracetamol they probably weren't asymptomatic. I don't know what the protocol is for these factories. We're temperature readings required at entrance? If so people were taking paracetamol to pass temperature checks and you'd have to wonder if they were truly asymptomatic?

The guys at the meat processor near me were taking them to pass the temperature checks going into work.

I'd say a considerable amount of knock on tests outstanding. Middle to late next week will be telling.

You mean an explanation for the excess deaths that were happening when people were dying in their thousands, even tens of thousands, from Covid?

Would have thought it was pretty clear cut to be honest.

Same tactic to avoid screening at airports.

Most of these excess deaths are prob. just covid 19 deaths.

What's the odds on a 2 week national lockdown, schools have no hope of opening as things stand.

Yes I think if schools opened it would just be crazy... try for October into June with say a 5% reduction in curriculum.

I know. My neighbor works in one and got it, took him 2 weeks to get tested after being recommend for one, neither his wife or kids got it though and he had no symptoms. He wasn't taking paracetamol but said it was a complete piss take what was going on.

Yes, it is pretty clear cut. See the articles from the Telegraph and Guardian I posted to see that the deaths were related to lockdown, mystery solved.

Kermit de Frog was trying to imply that these excess deaths were uncounted covid deaths, which we know they were not.

But we’re not talking about food in general, we’re talking about meat. Eating meat isn’t essential. A lot of it isn’t even good for you. A month of less national meat consumption is a small price to pay for stopping all these meat factory clusters, in turn risking furthering community spread, in turn risk tightening lockdown including schools not opening properly in September.

Exactly, I wouldnt call mass produced factory meat food. Especially the processed shìte.

Ask any parent/grandparent how many times they ate meat in a week pre 60s and they ll say once or twice at best.

Theres still a butchers in most decent sized towns where you'll get locally grown meat and a good service where they ll cut/pack it whatever way you want. You'll pay an extra couple of euro but its a better product and it might make people eat less of it. You ll be helping local farms and producers.

Not at all. That's a live feed to RTE with the headline from yesterday.

Unfortunately many people cannot afford butcher meat. From my own experience butcher meat is not always better, some places you have to preorder cuts and then when you get it it could be poor quality and you still have to pay for it.

Sorry I gave up. Tried, but watching a film of some ****e that lasted forever put me off before the big MM statement, so I missed it.

    Can you summarise.

Think someone has messed up there - showing RTE One instead with a film they shouldn't be showing on YT
