People on Kildare need to be locked into their homes. We have to contain this. Bring in the army to get supplies to people

It’s the weekend. Our army works Monday to Friday 9-5.

Going to be a lot of virus transported in to Dublin by people going to work on Monday morning

50 cases outside of the three counties is an increase of its own.

I may be underreacting to the high number but this tweet is reassuring to me, it seems that the HSE have much greater oversight in terms of these clusters than in the past

We'll soon find out if the local localdown works, and if the testing of clusters is strong enough to help slow the spread. Cases popping up in more than half of the counties now, so that could be a worry. I'm guessing we could expect Kildare numbers to drop a lot soon, and numbers in Offaly and Laois look promisingly low.

I presume we've been taken off other countries green lists now?

Or over the past 2 weeks which is more likely.

    Big lesson from this.
Shut down factories immediately even if only one case & all must self isolate & get tested.

Why stop there? Just burn down the three countries. No people = no cases. Problem solved!

    No they aren't.

So it's good the authorities let the figures get to 174 by not keeping an eye on known sources of infection .

We've had plenty of warning about meat factories from other countries

    I'm on antib's and I can't have a drink. I need one now but I can't. I have some bottles ready.

It will have been happening already over the last week or so.

If people haven’t been expecting these figures especially with what’s happened over the last week then ye need to calm down, take a breath and have a cold beer!!
Ronan Glynn has been very good over the past few days explaining how this is being managed. Only 5 cases out of 174 is community transmission that’s 0.02% of the total case load. That’s good news. Now what I want to know is how cork has 7 cases today? Must be healthcare settings

It's also a load of balls. 110 of them in Kildare, 7 in Offaly and 1 in Laois. Yet Laois is tagged in there as if the lock down is justified. Shameful.

On RTE now, apparently 2 of the 4 meat factories are still open, the 3rd is re-opening on Monday, good luck.

    Thankfully deaths are low.

Hopefully the clusters have been isolated now. If there's even a sniff of lockdown again there will be Holy War i bet you.

How are the numbers not outrageous? Between yesterday and today 272 cases. Many of these cases have been out and about, active in communities, training, shopping trips and elsewhere. Does that not worry you?

I only takes one case to trigger a huge outbreak.

It's fine and it's only a cluster, take away all the cases in Kildare and Dublin and some of the other counties and the R number is 0. And dont worry about the lasting effects it's no worse then if you crash your car.

No crowds surely? They had a race up here in Sligo on Wednesday.

RTE saying 150 cases now at Kildare Chilling, up from 80 yesterday
