Tickers you can get hit by a truck unless you don't leave your home. However the more steps you take when you leave the home not to get hit by a truck means you are less likely to hit get hit by one.

YOU LITERALLY HAVE STATED THAT REDUCTION OF TRANSMISSION IS INEFFECTIVE.

I fail to see the analogy.

You can dig a giant hole with a shovel, you will make progress and we can prove scientifically that the shovel is having impact and removing dirt from the hole but the impact is minimal. That is your mask.

It is very apt that you mention digging a hole. Because every type you argue, you are digging a hole. Unfortunately for you, your arguments dig a much bigger hole than your mythical shovel.

I think that says a lot about you and your understanding of this.

If you have 1000 people helping you dig the hole with their small shovels how big a hole will you end up with? A big hole or a small hole?

So why am I beating you in the debate?

Are you tickers, are you really? I think the fact that you think that shows how literally clueless you are.

Not if 1000 other people are refilling the hole with dirt.

Look, wear a mask if it makes you feel better but remember that it only protects others if you have the virus. 99% of the population do not have the virus so we have all these people wearing masks to protect others when they themselves don't have the virus so it's an utterly pointless exercise.

    You really aren't.

Not even sure you know what you are debating if you are coming out with lines about an effective method of reducing transmission is not effective, because it's effective which means that it's not effective or some such nonsense.

I have posted links to two scientific studies which show how far droplets travel from people's mouths. Are you saying that scientists know less than you are, and that they're posting scary photos on the internet for the laugh?

Even wearing masks, we will see an uptick in cases but not because of masks, because we are heading into virus season, and covid cases will rise. That’s why it’s important we all do everything possible to minimise that spread.
If I go into my local shops and see people without masks I’ll be calling out the manager to sort it out. If people haven’t the decency to abide by the rules they can f@@k off and either avail of home delivery or do without. Unless of course the local friendly covid stores will allow in all the unmasked assholes.

It's only you that is trying to fill the hole back in. Except you are using Triggers spare broom to do so.

Stands to reason. Masks are used to stop droplets getting out. A paper bag is less porous than a cloth mask.

Lets go with this. And what happens with a paper bag when it gets wet, lets say from droplets and for example saliva, lips tongue?

Many people who have the virus don't even know they have it. If it was as simple as avoiding clearly sick people then maybe masks wouldn't be needed, but it isn't as easy as that.

"Many" now is not a big number. It's a low risk environment and not many cases as far as we know have come out of it. The masks are for the potential risk of lots of people together in indoor locations, which by the looks of things is not happening in retail either.

You're not. You're debating in bad faith. Just like you did with your Dolores Cahill thread.

I assume you're here to derail and spout nonsense rather than actually engage in any sort of meaningful debate.

Really think this thread has run its course .. some people point blank refusing to even entertain the idea masks can be beneficial in anyway .

When someone states that reduction of transmission is ineffective as an argument not to wear them, I think we have found the lowest common denominator.

You may have a reasonable excuse if you:

Cannot put a face covering on because of a physical or mental illness
Need to communicate with someone who has difficulties communicating
Are providing care to a vulnerable person
    Are taking medication
Face coverings are not suitable for some people, including children under 13. This means that children under 13 are exempt from the regulations.

Nothing if you are only wearing it for a very short time. Isn't' that what the mask advocates are saying, you only have to wear it for short times. Also, why would your lips and tongue be coming into contact with it, you weirdo?

Face shields are absolutely useless on their own.
With the Mandatory face coverings next Monday,Can you wear a Faceshield instead of a mask?.Nothing said about this by Government.I bought one like a pair of glasses with a visor made by Clear Shield

Yes might aswell wear a baseball hat for all the good it does.

I'm Asthmatic . Can a Visor be worn instead of a Mask on public transport.

I will be on a Bus for 2 hrs and I get a sore throat and blocked sinuses from Masks which doesn't help Asthma

You are calling me a weirdo? That's a good one.

Any a paper bag as a means of reducing transmission by being close to your mouth has no chance of coming into contact with your lips and tongue, close to your mouth
is that what your asking? Ill ask again, is something that is supposed to be a barrier for things leaving your mouth impossible to come into contact with lips and/or tongue?

Makes sense to me. Face covering is the stipulation. I've seen the odd person out with one.

Ok, it may possibly come into contact for a split second with lips/tongue. Over a short time, 10/20/30 minutes a decent paper bag should be able to deal with even the spittiest, lickiest, wet lipped person without disintegrating.
