Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Return to sports requirements

So sports are starting up again and kids going to be going to various weekly training etc.
There seems to be confusion on the requirements for submitting health declarations as some sports (GAA, Soccer are 2 examples) require that the questionnaire is completed and confirmation given prior to attending any session
Other sports (gymnastics) seem to be saying that you complete the form before attending day 1 and then self declare to Covid officer if you have any symptoms. No need to submit/or confirm a form each week

From reading sport Ireland website it seems the check in form is required each and every session

Can someone advise what is the policy that we should be abiding by?

BTW - I am involved with a sport on a coaching and committee level and trying to help them get set up for training (11 teams in total) which is due to start in late August

You've found the Sport Ireland guidelines already - stick to them is the most appropriate way to take this forward unless you have specific guidance from an equivalent organisation or your own sport's governing body. That's what we do in Cycling - we follow Cycling Ireland guidance

You should look at the website for the governing body of your sport, that will give you more specific details than the general Sporting Ireland ones you have.

Our teams covid officer needs us to confirm on the website before every match and training session. That's a GAA team. It takes about 15 seconds to reconfirm so I've no issue doing it

To be honest even the Sport Ireland website is a bit vague - I have requested details from our NGB so will see what they say but we are going to err on the side of caution and go for the check in each week or prior to training / playing matches

The GAA set up is great as they have money to spend on a fancy online tool but its a different matter for other sports and small clubs with limited resources

Admin nightmare but a welcome one to keep everyone safe
