Wow. Alex Albion done a brilliant lap time there with a 1:27.364.

    And he's binned it.

Albion has crashed in FP2. Red Flag is now up. Session suspended. What a shame.

    That's more like it.

Mechanics under Vettel's car again. All sorts of problems.
    It's too slow.

Albion's left rear tyre looks nasty. He's now going with the medics to get checked.

And Grosjean is apparently causing grief for Verstappen with interrupting his lap time.

That was a fair whack. Surprised there's just armco there if there's the potential to hit it at that speed.

Quite likely he's destroyed the Gearbox he put a huge lateral load through the left rear, could have some penalties if it needs replacing.

The Red Bull is very skittish and seems to be a bit of a handful. Both Albon and Verstappen complained about understeer earlier in the session.

There's now problems with Vettel's pedals after he checked his car.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,299 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Vettel's lap time was very poor there.

Vettel 1.3 seconds slower than Leclerc at the moment.

What was going on with Lando's car in the pits?

Chandhok saying Hulk was a tenth faster than Stroll on average on the longer runs.

That’s some going, although I don’t know if it says more about Hulk or Stroll.

Problem with Albon's car. Possibly power unit related. Bad weekend for him so far.

Kvyat has a new gearbox. +5 place penalty confirmed.

Looks like Mercedes have taken off the sandbags.

Vettel has decided to wake up as well I see.

Hulk looking good for a guy rushed into the car.

Unfortunately podium is too far out of sight this weekend. Maybe next?

Wasn't following last FP- he still ended up 14th or did he do something more notable?

One thing Brundle just mentioned how Hulkenbergs head and neck wasn't staying in place on some of the corners, probably down to lack of full F1 like training to have proper muscles ready

Have to imagine that will really wear on him during the race, I'd nearly rather see him getting respectable 7th or 8th place finishes that coming a distant 4th

Yeah. This bit was explained by Ben Edwards & Billy Monger during FP3 this morning.

The 2 knobs in the headrest inside the car was causing problems for Hulkenberg during FP3. He did not have enough time to address it properly as he had a lack of time to do full training on the simulator. He only travelled into the UK yesterday morning to get into the paddock to be on call for RP. He did his test for Covid after he was on the simulator. He got the negative result & then went to Silverstone to get the lap times done for the car in the 3 FP sessions so far.

The G forces in the car was causing problems to Hulkenbergs stomach because of his of lack of sim training.

Not much time to fit the car around him either. We saw the jokes yday about the seat causing his cheek to go numb.

Still hopefully we’re treated to something exciting

Maybe the best we can hope for tomorrow for Hulkenberg is that he learns enough to do a good job next weekend

Lando needs to set a good time here before Q1 ends.

EDIT: He is on the same time gap as Sainz.
