Likely the remainder of the factory results are in there, CMO said yesterday that they weren't all back yet

With these higher daily numbers they need to start doing daily briefings to give some background to them

Weird seeing as reported postive tests and those announced as only out by 2 for the last 2 days.

29 postives in the last 24hrs

I was wondering if there might have been a slight uptick. I don’t have exact numbers (Citizen might as he highlighted it) but there was about 6 positives from last weekend not announced as cases.

If so, the backlog should be all clear now.

I was due to go on a cruise in a few weeks time. Was due to cruise around Malta and Italy and Greece. I still don't know what the story is, if its still going to sail. Paid a deposit a few months ago. Was supposed to pay down the rest of it a few weeks ago but didn't. I don't know where I stand now with the travel agents and the deposit. So far to date have been fed stories that they are working at organising refunds or changing dates for the cruises that was due to sail back in April, May, June. Naturally, I'm not going on the cruise any more because its too risky. There's too much steps involved with the cruise. You're talking about

A bus from my home county to Dublin airport
A flight from Dublin to Italy
Transfer bus from the airport to the ships departure docks
A check in process there which is just like an airports check in process

All in one day too. There's too much risks involved in all of that. If I lived in the country of the ships departure, I could consider going but I don't. Its definitely off the cards for this year.

Likely the remainder of the factory results are in there, CMO said yesterday that they weren't all back yet

He also expected to see less than 40 cases today.

That’s good, hopefully they can track others and get on top of those. Was starting to feel a bit twitchy. Can head off for the wend now and enjoy it (while being mindful), county we’re heading to doing well. :)

yeah it was 2 I think in the last 48hrs so yup could be fully cleared now. No idea why there's a delay but it is what it is

    over 50% drop.

Couldnt have expected much more of a drop. Gives some hope they are catching cases early.

There was a time when this place would be turning cartwheels over a single day with zero deaths.

    Emirates are a nice airline.
They are offering to pay for your funeral if you get covid on one of their flights.
Ryanair should take a leaf out of their book instead of suing the people of Ireland.

15 cases under the age of 14? That's not great, is it?

Must be a construction site or factory around Shannon to cause the spike in Clare and Limerick.

Thought it was a funeral of a member of an ethnic minority

If only i had a fiver for every time i have heard that. All quickly vanishes when Aer Lingus etc quotes 25% or more to a destination of choice.

I’d rather be around and alive to pay 25 % extra then be giving to an undertaker.

I think NPHET is going to seriously consider the idea of regional restrictions now I'll be honest. Over half (47) of cases yesterday in Dublin and Kildare, and 32 out of 38 in Dublin and Kildare today. Not good for Leinster.

Im guessing these are "close contacts", children who caught it at home from adults.
It must be very difficult to self isolate within a family home, with young children around.
You can see the need for Citywest Hotel as an isolation option.

Aye, but it's more that it gives the lie to the notion that kids don't catch it. 15 out of 85 isn't insignificant.

The next big question. Why haven't more people ended up in hospital. Tune back in the week after next.
