Being explained now, clusters in factories, construction sites and some private households.

Outbreak prevention teams are in place on all affected sites.

    85 new cases

Jesus on a stick, omg I can only imagine how many people those 85 have infected. A staggering number no doubt and all of them are out there, some of them with unwashed hands could be touching things in supermarkets as we speak. Truly terrifying, I literally feel sick (from fear).

Woah, where did that 85 come from??

Hopefully that is an outlier......if that was a new trend, we'd be in big trouble.

Anyone know what the cases in Clare are linked to?

    Those figures are rubbish tbf

We don't really test for the flu.

We don't test the many many old people in nursing homes etc that die with flu every year

Pneumonia lol, that kills a **** load of old people every year, way more than the 1,000 pneumonia deaths we record

My mother worked in a nursing home for years and the amount of deaths per year from pneumonia, flu type stuff and the like was mad, 10 -15 residents out of 100 residents could die over Dec/Jan/Feb and no one would take any notice.

They are not. They are statistics as retrievable from the World Health Organization records. Unless your old dear was a doctor, I’ll take her views and experiences as relates to this covid discussion with a huge pinch of salt. As I will yours. Flu is a condition that is diagnosed.

Its the averages to watch. R is affected by clusters etc as we saw with the Killarney cluster which inflated R to a figure that wasn't an accurate portrayal of the national picture. This all happens with low cases.

Its likely to stay around 1 for a good while
Well, that jump is going to throw averages out quite a bit too.

60 % community transmission. We are in a very bad position tbh, similar to Australia about 4 weeks ago

I wonder why we have so many cases outside the 14 day period?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,767 ✭✭✭✭ACitizenErased

Can we stop with all the "this is bad" nonsense? They're all isolated clusters, bulk reported. Big difference between them and community transmission. There's outbreak prevention teams in place.

jesus christ watch the press conference and what they're saying before people lose the head.

Its being explained where all of these cases are coming from.

They've been traced and outbreak control teams are in place.

They all seem isolated but I agree schools won’t be opening. We’re back to phase 2 next week at this rate

It shows that people are failing to understand what is required to suppress the virus.

No transmission linked to any pub serving food as far as I know. Having people cooked up in their houses and going to house parties is not helping things at all.

Yes, so I see : workplace and residential settings, not socialising or shopping or travel.

Ah ffs asylum seekers working in a dog food factory

Seems like they were holding back numbers until they had tested and isolated a cluster. We don't normally get such a detailed breakdown of cases announced the same day. it's usually based on the day before's figures.
Guess it helps explain the figures when they have the details behind them.

Hence the jump. Factory closed since last Friday

And yet there are so many Brazilians here in this country trying (pretending) to learn English and avail of our lovely working laws. Scam almighty. They should have gone to Portugal same language but no, it is always Ireland probably because we let everyone in now.

We should go back to being an island nation and only let the food exporters and the techies in lol.

    Await a few bombs now.

Yeah because your post is stupid and frankly racist.
