If it was posted to a UK address I could easily see them applying UK VAT.

When I've bought from Amazon the price goes up slightly for irish VAT at checkout when sent to an Irish address iirc.

The VAT system is a mess, isn't that why the German companies stopped shipping here?

They stopped shipping to other EU countries as well not just Ireland.

Its not really. Small sellers can apply local (sender side) VAT. Anyone doing over €35,000 pa has to pay Irish VAT. That means all big etailers pay Irish VAT rates.

If you buy a helmet you'll see a large delta as its 0% in the UK but full whack here.

I understand but the outcome is you get companies not bothering with customers because red tape.

In whats supposed to be a free trade block its a bit messy imo.

Lads, thinking of a new chair. I've tried the Aeron, and it's lovely, but I'd also like to give some other higher-end chairs a go.

Anyone know anywhere that has chairs like that you can actually sit in?
I've tried some in Ikea, and they're not great... Not sure where else might have any.

We have Aerons at work. I got sick of having a cheap junk chair at home, so I went for one of these:

I actually like it a lot better than the Aerons. It's served me well during the lockdown. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anywhere to go try it in person.

I'd love to try the Embody as well, but I haven't seen it for sale, other than Hunt Office, but it's a custom order with them.

Some nice options there alright. POA is a little worrying, but I'm liking the look of a few options there:

POA is only because there's loads of custom options for those chairs - I guess it's too complicated to build all the option selections and pricing into the web page. They followed up with me directly by phone/email to confirm all the details. I think price-wise it's similar to the one you linked.

That would be for something called a floppy disk drive.

I could be wrong but it looks like an old Hiper type-r PSU modular cable.

I never noticed savemejebus already answered it :)

Poxy power cut this morning, while in the middle of doing some Unraid -> USB backups. Queue a 12 hour parity check ahead  I really have to invest in a suitable UPS...has anyone any advice on them? I know nothing about them. Requirements are a desktop grade pc doing server duties (Unraid, x6 6TB drives).

I've reached endgame - the Roccat Kain 120 AIMO is just pure butter in my hands.
Razer Mamba wireless will be going on Adverts soon.

What's the cord like on this, K.O.Kiki? I was going to go for the wireless version, but heard it's not as good as Logitech's or Razer's implementation.

I have but wouldn't use them for PC use. Love them but used for music only.

We have the cheaper set at home and they are decent, however if active noise cancelling is a requirement then look elsewhere as the ANC on these are almost nonexistent.

I also have the anker soundcore q20 which I find great, good ANC and can use wired connection if required.

Ah yes but you probably have a €500+ pair as your main set :D

I'm upgrading from cloud 2's. What do you use for the PC and why wouldn't you use the Sony's for them?

How in the name of God did you break your Hyperx headset???? I've the cloud alpha and the thing's a tank. The amount of times I've f*cked mine across the room and it's still grand

If you want to get something nice especially for gaming i really think you should go for an open back set. Something like the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro or if you want closed back then the 770 Pro. The 770's wouldn't require an amp to drive if you go for the 32ohm version. Believe me, they sound fantastic for gaming and music.

I swap around the sets i have but mainly use my Sennheiser HD650's. I understand not everyone has a headphone fetish like me though. :pac::D

Anyone try wireless headphones yet? Looking for something higher end than my broken hyper x cloud 2's this black friday.

Anyone got these? Supposed to be great and has a headphone jack and cable if you want to do wired at the PC.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-WH-1000XM3-Wireless-Cancelling-Headphones-Black/dp/B07GDR2LYK/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=sony+wireless+headphones&qid=1596647347&sr=8-5

I had these. They were great for a month until they developed a really annoying subtle fault. It tooks weeks of back and forth with support before they'd accept the return. Took a refund and waiting for the version 4 refresh before buying again.

You're all making me feel cheap AF. I recently got the wired HyperX Cloud Stinger to replace my broken higher end headphones. I actually got them delivered from CEX and used that store credit I was hoarding so it felt like a €0 transaction to me. I try to treat headphones well but I've come to the conclusion that they just don't last as long as other products like monitors n' such so I'm kind of done paying premium for them.

Have the xm2 OH has the XM3 of the Sony's great for flying, commuting, chilling with a bit of music yes wouldn't use them for gaming though. Dunno just don't think they would handle it well plus doesn't ANC actually affect overall sound quality a little. Plus the mic on the Sony's kinda sucks for calls but still love them.

This +1 follow this ... "Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro or if you want closed back then the 770 Pro. The 770's wouldn't require an amp to drive if you go for the 32ohm version. Believe me, they sound fantastic for gaming and music."
I have the 770 pro 80 ohm got the on Amazon for like 125 euro, on my creative g6 and wow going from a sennheiser p36x (also on the g6) or what ever they are called is unreal the difference over all was night and day.
Only draw back is no mic, but get a mod mic or a desktop mic and you are sorted with a set up that will put most if not all gaming headsets to shame. Also cheaper than the Sony's.

Cable got yanked a few times and pulled the tiny delicate wires from the solder inside. I did repair them but they are gone again and I managed to sever the mic cable as well. The repair is so fiddly, I just cba at this stage.

I've never buying a headset that doesn't have a removable jack cable again. I was happy enough with the sound on these things but don't mind paying more for something better and more durable.

Nah open back is not a option. I want some sound isolation both to block out external sounds and not leak a load of sound either.

Those look good and I hear good things about them but 2 issues. No mic and no removable cable. Yes you can mod mic but that is a pain running 2 cables off the headset. Maybe a pain that's worth it for the sound quality for the price I guess. Or just use a separate table mic.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50X get talked about a lot as well. Any experience with those?

I'm using a crap cheap pair atm since the clouds are broken. The clouds were so much better than these and I'm hoping for another noticeable jump in quality by going higher end again. It's an often overlooked part of the setup. I can't even enjoy music atm on these things. It's a slippery upward slope.
