They're probably keeping the 46 cases to warn us to stay in for the bank holiday, I heard it's going to be a scorcher.

Not going to be a scorcher unfortunately :(

The seven day average is 18 cases a day. Since the first covid death was reported in March its the first time we have gone 4 days in a row without a death reported.

I wonder if they're running double tests on a few of the cases as they're asymptomatic individuals.

40 new cases announced today....seems obvious the cases are increasing and anyone who dare suggest that this isnt a good thing is mocked

Tell us your thoughts when tomorrow’s numbers come out.

    Quite possibly.
Also shows the importance of getting the test if your identified as a close contact

Basically all of our cases aren't even being referred from the community now. I'd say they're well in the know of where cases are popping up/are going to pop up.

    What’s half of 11?

    7 in that case :D

Only 8 in hospital in a country of 5 million is truly brilliant and really should be highlighted more. It's been less than 15 for ages now, but is largely ignored when the media and everyone else is in panic mode.

    For sure!

    Are the treatments getting better?

There needs to be more discussion about treatments tbh. Not just on here, but in general

Another good thing about yesterday is it's the same counties from the past few days reporting cases. Not as if it's popping up all over the gaff. Clare had one earlier this week and added another big jump with 8. The rest have all had cases in the past few days.

This was referenced by Dr De Gascun last week when he said cases weren't randomly popping up

As far as I know the Irish ICU survival rate is well above that in the UK

A feck, and I was in Clare Sunday. How long have I got?

The figures in the UK are terrible, regularly over 100deaths each day, and second only to Belgium in deaths per million population.

When you bear in mind that many people spend a long time in ICU, it’s incredible to be down to single figures in hospital, 5 (or maybe less) in ICU.

Also worth noting that some hospital labs are reporting cases at the 8am/2pm deadlines, and those hospitals have zero patients admitted by the time the report comes out at 10pm. Shows it’s either staff testing positive without admission or patients testing positive and well enough to be discharged home.

Well...it's a long, long way from Clare to here.
Indeed, it's a long, long way, and it gets further day by day. To repeat, it's a long, long way from Clare to here.

Kinda mad that nearly half of today's cases were asymptomatic
If we weren't testing contacts they'd be roaming.
