A local Louth news outlet has
The number of Covid-19 cases confirmed in Louth has dropped by 30 after a re-assessment of cases.

Having previously stood at 792 confirmed cases, the number in the county since March now stands at 762 as of midnight on Friday July 24th.

"It's not easy when you learn of a solicitors' firm directly contacting people in a place where there was an outbreak to discuss bringing a case. That is what you are up against" https://twitter.com/Independent_ie/status/1287719222416756737 is Pat McDonagh admitting he had an outbreak in one of his food outlets?

Don’t think it’s true because there was no counties with 30 reassigned cases.

You realise that animals are the source of the virus right?

I think it's also the same for looking at the overall pandemic, lots of isolated arguments and not many holistic views. The holistic view of the entire situation is a pretty grim picture and a very complex balancing act, and I do think some people would prefer not to think about it or are ignorant to it due to how massive a societal/economic/health problem it is.

To keep this under control we have to everything we can reasonably do to stop it. Some things may not be possible, but something that is easy to do like wearing masks is part of the solution. It simply is isn't possible to ease up without numbers increasing, well organised places like Hong Kong and Singapore have had to impose measures after a good start because they took their eye off the ball in some respects.
Ireland now has a pretty good situation, the biggest danger is laziness, complacency, contrariness and impatience, and unfortunately there is a lot of that about.

Pick any Mon-Fri during the pandemic. Go to Dublin Bus's twitter or FB page for that day and look at hoe many people complained of overcrowding, no social distancing etc. To say no on was using public transport is just lies.

My point was that public transport was not nearly as congested then as it is now after we entered phase 2 and 3.

If you do take "no one" literally then of course - but the number of folks on public transport in Ireland during April was a fraction of what it is now, which in turn is less than it was in Dec/Jan.

But I agree with your point - masks should have been mandated in any situation where social distancing was not possible.

The bus that goes by me every 15 minutes was empty for the most part (but to be fair this route is in Cork and primarily serves train, hospital and colleges)

At the beginning the government was running about like headless chickens trying to get votes for the election, if I recall they had a poll day in Galway which was timed around the same time as the opening party for the Galway city of culture celebrations on February. It was only in March that FG started to take the pandemic a bit more seriously.

Total BS - Italy hadn't even had their first death until more than 2 weeks after our election took place.

It didn't come from a domestic pet in the UK did it.

Another one for the flu-bros... the guys who think that 'it's only a flu' and that it's OK for people to die from Covid-19 “because maybe they weren’t healthy to begin with”.

"Stephen Cameron, age 42, a Scottish pilot from Motherwell, was Vietnam's sickest patient and became known nationwide as Patient 91.

He spent 68 days on a ventilator - most of which he was also reliant on an Ecmo machine, a form of life support only used in the most extreme cases.

Mr Cameron narrowly avoided a double lung transplant when his lung capacity fell to 10%. He also suffered multiple organ failure and lost 30kg (4.7 stone) in weight while in a coma, and is still struggling to walk despite extensive rehab."

Don't recall anyone here saying its just a flu? It clearly isn't a flu.

The majority of people who test positive have symptoms even milder than the flu though. This is actual fact.

The media are obsessed with finding young healthy people that either died from it or are really suffering.

Most people don't even need paracetamol to get over it, thats the truth. Im not saying its harmless for everyone just the overwhelming majority of people.

How exactly do you know that? With what's happening inside the body. People can have very dangerous levels of low oxygen without even knowing and feeling absolutely fine.

It's been reported even mild cases can have lasting effects as well. So it's not harmless for the majority of people.

You can find anything miserable if you go looking. Always exceptions to the majority of cases. Here's one for "the flu" to excite:

"Kyle Baughman, an aspiring personal trainer living in Latrobe, came home for Christmas not feeling well, his mother, Beverly, told WPXI. His symptoms persisted after returning to work after the holidays. “I think he thought, ‘I just got the flu, I’ll be alright. I’ll go rest a little bit,'” Beverly Baughman told WPXI.

Just a few days later, however, Kyle Baughman died at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian hospital from flu-related organ failure, according to his family."

Can you show me where it's harmful for the majority of people.

I'm not downplaying it either but your statement above is ridiculous!

Indeed, they have done at least 3 pieces on this pilot guy ...

In other news this video by John Campbell is quite interesting
    https://youtu.be/mBdgAUA0VvA

He is confident it will be vaccinated out of existence - eventually , he has been right so far...
