Had Wow Burger. The burger was pathetically small. I was able to hold it in one hand without a plate and had it gone in 30 seconds. Some joke

Tangentially related, but Fishy Fishy is overhyped IMO. Their seafood chowder was SO salty when I went that I couldn't finish it, and the other dishes were not memorable. Could have been a bad day, but I won't waste money going back to test that theory.

Yeah I’ve heard from a few people before that it’s overrated. I’ve never been myself; must try it out and see!

Both my parents and my girlfriend rave about fishy fishy , (and she's a good critic ) ,I've only had lunch there once, and was underwhelmed.....

Had west cork burger company tonight, ordered via deliveroo. Was so nice, chips were also very nice with a bit of flavouring on them.

had the chowder in fishy fishy 10 yrs ago and still rem it - twas divine.. had chilli and lemon grass in it I think - and it was tomato based which I loved as its normally made with cream (not a fan of dairy)

just shows - restaurants can vary from day to day but also people's tastes are different etc.. what one might love another could hate etc..

And what part of Cork is Raheny in?

Back to the Pale with you! :pac:

Anyway. In these covid times, my first venture to eat "out" at rather than take-away was a very exciting gaa club, the Rockies on church road. They have absolutely acres of space in there, you can barely see the other tables. It's pizza and burgers. Burger was massive, thumbs up.

Staff are getting used to it, they need some training. Have to say I found it all a bit weird still being in a bar, but that's just me.

Are Rockies serving food to non members as well?

    Yes.
It's not walk-in, you have to pre-book it, but yup, anyone welcome.

    Ichigo Ichie last night.
    Magnificent.

Didn't feel any different at all to previous, just that the staff were wearing face masks.

I take it they're not running the Chef's table?

    They are.
Reduced from 5 to 4 with a perspex screen.
Chef only puts on mask when he comes out from behind screen to talk to the other customers.

Had West cork burger delivered recently. While not on par with Bunsen still very good. Have to commend whatever magic they do with the chips, first time I've had chips delivered and not arrive steamy/soggy, was almost like getting them fresh in the restaurant

The Pizza in Eat in it restaurant in Blarney is really nice. They are Italians who run the restaurant.

Plenty of tables there, fabulous menu and wine list

Thanks! Tried it for lunch yesterday, and it was great. Maybe a pity they don't have more tables outside, considering they have plenty space, but food (and wine, eek) were great.

Went to cornstore last night for their one for the road menu, booking for half ten.

First time out for dinner since February, god it felt like such a treat. I’m a fan of the cornstore anyway but was just so flippen good to be out.

Lot on menu and we could have ordered from al la carte too. Staff were so lovely too as were the cocktails. Would deffo recommend.

Their Belgian Martini is amazing. Haven’t been in there since the lockdown though.

They have the place looking really well too. The outside seating looks lovely at night when it’s all lit up.

The only Bob's bar is in Kanturk. No idea what's it is like. The other 4 aren't great, to be fair.

Saw it earlier and I thought WTF! What is the obsession with Il Padrinos? It’s not great and overly priced.
