    Well, that was brief.

    Glynn isn't the absolute master of staying on message that Holohan was, but he does come across as a bit more friendly.

    His acknowledgement that some people are sick of listening to warnings and negative news felt pretty genuine.

    Again, most of the cases are concentrated in Leinster - HSE report this morning has 2 cases in UHK, though whether they will be attributed to Kerry won't be apparent until tomorrow or Saturday.

    How long are we going to continue with this daily bulletin of number/misery porn, aka the deaths/cases figures?

    It's largely unnecessary to the general public, and at worst downright wrong and misleading.

    They should be released on a weekly basis or something to that effect, properly correlated and presented in an accurate fashion, with context given to the dates of the death/positive test etc. with averages over periods of time and so on, like people in this thread present.

    I got 3 texts from people about the 9 people dying in one day, when that is outright false. All people see are the 2 figures and base their entire outlook off that and soundbites of headlines.
    Never a mention of the fact that 99.7/8% of tests are negative, or anything like that, just any broad headline numbers to make it sound as bad as possible.

    I can't remember the last time I got a push notification like that from BBC or the Guardian, but the IT loves it every day, adding in nice little spin with how they word it like "unfortunately 10 new cases/worryingly 15 new cases etc. etc.)
