Anyone any experience with their stock delisting on degiro and the process of getting their shares transferred to a broker which facilitates OTC? I've a small holding in luckin coffee where it is very possible it gets delisted from the nasdaq.
Would also be interested in hearing more about this. I was on to Davy earlier today, they said they support some OTC stocks through a 3rd party in the US (she said BONY, which I'm assuming is BNY Mellon), but they wouldn't know until the stock becomes listed on the OTCBB. I'm investing in a company that is soon to be OTCBB listed, and will need somewhere other than my Degiro account to deposit the shares, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Shouldn't be that much. My own theory is
    1. Degiro can't handle afterhours correctly, so it's fine until 9pm every night (say you're up €100 at 9pm), then goes a bit weird during the night (so might be down €50 by 3am).
    2. Degiro then tracks the "daily gain" from this completely wrong number so is always out of sync with other systems. The number in your Portfolio/Balance is correct at 5/6/9pm, but the gain/loss is a bit off I find.

Take a few screenshots during the day and track what you think you're up/down V what Degiro tells you and you'll see the difference.

Looks like I'm encountering this weird behaviour. Trying to submit some stop loss sells and some limit buys, ETFs and a couple of US stocks. I first got an error saying trading unavailable until 23:10, then get "There has been a delay in sending your order. If your order does not go through please contact the Service Desk. For certain exchanges, including but not limited to LSE AIM segments, please allow additional time before placing your order again.
    ".

Anyone encountered this and know if the order tends to go through or not?

And now it's just logged me out and won't let me log back in. May be high volumes with the day that's in it a lot of people getting their plan for tomorrow in place?

Is the lack of US ETFs a particular restriction to DeGiro or common across most trading platforms for users based in Ireland? Haven't been overly impressed with DeGiro's interface or the seemingly frequent errors encountered, so if others have better ETF options, might be the factor that'd cause me to look at other platforms. E.g. searching for Gold in the top search bar shows I think one EFT based in Switzerland. Going to the Products-ETF page and searching for Gold there brings up 2 pages of ETF options, most seem to be producer/miner options rather than gold-linked, but that seems a quirky difference in search bar behaviour, which would make you wonder.

Irish people can't invest in US domiciled ETF's since 2018

I have latam shares that were delisted this week so would also like to know how others have sold these.

In regards to removal of a ton of stocks applying tax relief in US:
    Thank you for your email.

This is an internal decision that has been taken by DEGIRO due to the current complexity of processing US Relief at Source. This is additionally to ensure continued provision of US tax treaty in the long-term.

Please find the list of the products that will continue to be in the scope here. I cannot reply to the exact reason why US75513E1010 is not on the list.

In general, this includes many of the most frequently traded US stocks, however, there may be other factors that determine as well. This list contains over 2,000 US products.

Please contact us again if you have any further queries.

    Kind regards,

    Cornelia

Strange. Cost cutting measures are never a good sign.

Is it possible to buy US Options on Degiro?

The FAQ here says it is
Can I trade in American options with DEGIRO?
Yes US options are now available. Please refer to the Products & Markets page on our website for all option markets currently available.
but following the link from the FAQ only directs me to Options on where the market index will be, rahter than otpions on individual companies

Orders are routed though one of DeGiros prime brokers in the case of the NASDAQ, NYSE, NYSE MKT (AMEX), NYSE Arca the Routing is through Morgan Stanley I believe

Reply to email to DeGiro on options trading:-

    Thank you for your email.

It is not possible to trade US equity options on our platform. We do however, have US index options.

Just as an FYI, its fairly straight forward to do, one thing to be mindful of is that they told me they will not trade if the share price is below 1e.

If you would like to place an order to close your position in Latam Airlines please send an email order to orders@degiro.eu containing all of the following:

    Username of your DEGIRO account
Product (Option serie or ISIN number)

    Number of securities
Price at which the order must be sent to market (limit price)
    Day order
    Exchange to place order

I did the above and it was sold within 30mins.

I registered with DeGiro approx a month ago. It went down steadily until it hit 416 in the queue. It's been that way for approx 10 days, with no movement. I've finally emailed them today. Even when open payments are taking up to 4 days to process to your account (per DeGiro).

Possibly the wrong thread, but have any DeGiro users have an opinion on Trading212?

How long had you been waiting?

26th of May. :) Started in the 8'000s and it progressed to 416 in the queue until about 10/11 days ago, and just stayed at that number. I finally emailed them about 2/3 days ago and got an email today saying I'm ready to register.

LK announced they wouldn't be appealing their delisting so today is the last day of trading on nasdaq. I'm looking at holding these long term, not selling. De giro told me i can initiate a portfolio transfer to a different broker or keep with them frozen on an untradeable line whereby if it gets relisted elsewhere it gets automatically transferred back to a trading line if there are no associated fees. They will notify me first if there are fees before proceeding with the transfer.

Can anyone recommend a broker which facilitates OTC that works with Irish resident users? I've heard of TradeZero but don't know anyone personally who uses it

    First day trading on DeGiro.

I've placed an order on a stock for €1.80 per share, but the bid was for a time showing as approx €1.792. How can that be, unless Degiro is taking a cut... say, €.008 per share in this example. Small money, but would add up and explain the small transaction fees.

you've probably placed a market order so when it got executed only "available" bids were for €1.8 - you can use Limit orders where you state "top" price you're willing to pay for any share and protect yourself from sudden moves (which could, theoretically be much bigger than €0.008, although in reality they rarely go drastically up/down from what you can see at the time when you click to progress with the order.... Nevertheless, I pretty much always use Limit orders as I feel I have more control, but that's just me...

Thanks. I went with a limit order at €1.80, which is why I was surprised there were bids below it.

This is my first limit order with DeGiro. I went to market for my first three trades, but will probably use Limit orders going forward, just curious why a bid was in place below mine.

I thought of the above, because that's how our HQ buy FX through Global Reach. HQ tell them what exchange they want and GR buy once they've their margin covered.

You should also look at the feeds. While all the popular shares are quoted in real-time (BATS), others are on a 15-minute delay, while very minor stocks are simply quoted as "end of previous day".

If the particular shares you were trying to buy were on a 15-minute delay, that would likely explain it.

I have a DeGiro account that I have had for a few years. I invest in a employee share participation scheme and at six month intervals I have some mature shares that I can sell or transfer to a broker. For the last few years I have been transferring to DeGiro. However, I just got an email saying that they have halted the share transfer service. The email went on to say they would notify me when this changes. Anybody else encountered this?

Discount brokers have to make their money somewhere.... and one way is commission for trade flow... which means you don't necessarily get the best price.

Thanks outonawing. It seems from reading other threads that DeGiro have not been accepting transfers for a while. I assume it is Covid-19 related.

That makes sense. Just trying to understand their platform. And its also handy to understand how many shares you can buy at a limit, by factoring this in.

Good news, Degiro are partnering with a German bank so all cash holds will be guaranteed up to 100k in future.

They're starting this roll out to customers in the coming weeks.

How much will you pay for cash to be kept in that account though?

Degiro's selling point is their no fees model so I'd imagine it to be 0.

They already compensate losses in the MMF market, I'd imagine them partly covering some bank associated fees with their German partner will take place.

Each degiro customer will now have a German bank account. That German bank is about to get access to a lot of liquidity.

So I'm guessing it will make it easier depositing money to our accounts too?
