Pegasus are not for overpronators, that right?

I have never heard of this and I have been wearing them for a couple of years without any issue or injury. I am not saying you are wrong, I have never had my gait analysed to see how my foot lands and strikes the ground.

I know the Rub Hub on Aungier street have this facility, you can make an appointment at a cost of 25, and if you buy a pair of runners with them, this is included in the overall price, great offer and one I will certainly look to do before my next purchase.

Yeah I normally need 'stability' runners for marathons etc. Shorter distances om. I've always worn Mizuno Wave inspires but need a new pair and not liking the 16s. I bought a pair of Nike React Infinity run and I live them but not sure about long distance

I was looking at the infinity, I thought they were designed for long runs, apparently more react foam than the epic reacts (which I currently use)

Why arent you sure about long distance out of interest?

I've only worn them on one 14 mile run and they gave me a blister which never happens. Maybe I need to break them in more. For my shorter runs, they have been great & I love them. I have the flyknit version BTW

Thinking of getting the Nike React Miler for longer runs also, reviews look good

Took them out again for 12 miles. Felt the heel slipped a bit and caused me some blisters. I have over 100 miles in them now so well broken in. Could be just me, could be because they are the flyknit. But will need more support in the heel I feel.

So will go for the Nike Miler I reckon

I went out earlier today wearing my P37, i found them very comfortable, so soft and lightweight, you would hardly feel the impact from the ground. The last k i started to feel rubbing on the inside of my foot arch - no blister, just some redness thankfully. I'll wear these now for a few days and break them in as they say, i'll alternate between these and P36, it maybe a little early but i would definitely recommend these to anyone thinking or looking to buy, the most comfortable and lightweight running trainer i have owned to date.

Wore my new peg 37's last week and they still felt very long, Went out for 8 miler and was getting very sore feet and had to stop after 5 miles. Never had a that type of pain before. I have a feel that the flex of the shoe was in the wrong place for my foot, So i sent them back. I might try them again if i can get into a shop to try them on a size down.
I am also considering the NB 1080 V10 or the Asics Evoride or Novablast.

I was back out yesterday in my P37 and ran just under 10K, i had no issue, no rubbing like the first day. I still found them to be very comfortable and lightweight. I admit, they look longer against my P36, both the same size.

Ran a half marathon distance yesterday in my Peg 36s - only got them in April and have been alternating between them and Peg 35 since - ran couple of 15km in the Peg 36 before yesterday. Anyway, about 3kms in could feel a hot spot on my left foot, but it was a virtual race, so I continued on and paid for it after - large blister has formed. This is the first time that the shoes have caused discomfort, but was very surprised to have the hot spots.

It's been bout 5 years since I had a blister like this - was wearing Brooks then and they killed my feet.

Question really is has anyone seen that much of a difference between the 35 and 36 Pegasus in terms of foot comfort?

I prefer the 35s mainly because it was softer around the achilles

Got some Pegasus 37s delivered end of last week and sent them back today. Lovely shoes overall but far too much heel slippage for my liking. Gone for some new NBs instead.

Nike are ok with sending back shoes even having worn them?

  • Registered Users Posts: 819 ✭✭✭EDit

Yep. Currently 60 day returns for any reason. Obviously, there might be issues if you’ve run through a bog, but otherwise they have a very good returns policy

Went for my first run in the Peg 37s today, definitely noticed the heel slippage alright but I don't mind too much.

On first impressions, I'd prefer my Pegasus Turbo 2's as they feel slightly lighter and give more of a forward spring in the step.

Think I'll keep the 37's for training and the Turbos for races and faster paced runs.

I’ve gone through several pairs of 880s over the past few years but wanted to try something with a bit more cushioning so opted for the 1080v10.

    Good news :D

I was sure I had missed any chance of getting a pair of Endorphin Pros but last luck shone on me. Snagged a pair today.

Hopefully will get them out on Saturday for a good session.

Where did you find them? Still undecided whether I'll go for those or try for Adizero pro when released next week..

Adidas's other new carbon plate shoe, the Adios Pro, looks mental, got 5 rods in the forefoot as well as a carbon heel plate, reckon it'll be months before they're available though, cool to see something different..

Looking specialist running place here in Perth WA called The Running Centre. Had arranged with the physical shop for the Australian version of Running Warehouse but they let me down.

Saw a review of the adizero on youtube this morning, it was a bit luke warm. He appeared to get his nose out of joint over the weight of them but I think I’d take a bit more weight and have a decent wearing sole which the adidas looks like it has.

    Cheers.

That Seth James Demoor dude? Yeah, he didn't seem that impressed, seems to prefer the Metaracer or Endorphin pros from viewing some other videos of his.

Just as a follow-up to this (credit where credit is due and all that) I dropped the Nike shoes off at the PO in Athlone yesterday and they have already refunded the full cost to my PP account. Return post was free BTW. Very impressive service IMO.

Initial run in the Saucony Endorphin Pro.

Was a bit smashed from a heavy week but I gotta say, they are awesome. Like running on a cloudy trampoline. Fantastic cushioning and bounce. Looking forward to doing a 5k time trial in them soon.

I haven’t tried the Nike versions but they blow the socks off the Hyperions.

Just bought myself a pair of the Endorphin Speed, reviews are very positive, very similar to the Pro with a little more give.

They were due to be released at 2pm

but they're up now early on the UK site..

Would it be a shoe more suited for sessions rather than a race?

  • Registered Users Posts: 66 ✭✭ImportMeHappy

If you're thinking faster threshold sessions then sure, if you're thinking slower easy pace or recovery runs the third model in the range, the Endorphin Shift may be a better choice. The Pro and Speed are both high end marathon racing shoes, with the Pro using a Carbon plater while the Speed uses a Nylon plate. I would have happily bought the Pro but they're sold out everywhere until August, other two were launched today..

Ordered the NB Fuelcell Propel, €72! Coming to the end of my 3rd pair of Reebok Floatride Energy.

Need a change from the Floatride for a while.

Sound I've been looking out for a replacement for my Nike Zoom Flys for sessions. I was going to wait for Nikes new version of the Zoom Flys but I take punt on these instead.
