No one (DoH or HSE or government) ever said that the aim was for zero, though some commentators have. The goal was always to manage the disease so it didn’t overwhelm icu and the health service. This is the clear goal by DoH and their pandemic strategy.


Infections are now effectively zero. We are returning to normal. Do you think we should not have a phased return. Or not shorten them as government has? What more should we open right now?

I’ll grant that there is a big challenge with the 2m and 1m, and this I’m sure is under constant review.

seriously , have you not looked at all the countries south of the equator, they are exploding with new cases. everyday worldwide cases reach a new high.
