Livongo Health Inc - from a subscription recommendation I sign up to

"Diabetes is a pretty big deal. There are an estimated 34.2 million people in the U.S. alone — 1 in every 10 adults — living with the chronic disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control's latest report. Diabetes is the country's seventh leading cause of death, even though nearly 95% of the diagnosed cases fall into the type 2 category, in which people can keep their blood glucose in check through healthy eating, exercise, shedding excess weight, and taking prescribed medications.

Founder Glen Tullman was inspired to start Livongo after seeing the struggles with diabetes facing his son, who was diagnosed with the condition when he was eight years old. What if you could leverage data science and machine learning to scale digital coaching for diabetes and other chronic conditions? A business model was born.

Livongo signs up insurers and large self-insured companies as clients, which in turn offer the platform to their members. Livongo had 1,252 clients at the end of March, an explosive jump from the 804 it had just three months earlier and an 84% surge from the 679 it had on its books a year before. The number of individual participants on the platform is growing even faster, as Livongo's diabetes members have roughly doubled over the past year to 328,000.

It's a win-win-win arrangement. What do members get out of this? Well, members on the diabetes platform receive glucose meters and test strips that they are all too familiar with for checking their blood sugar levels on a regular basis. However, these meters are connected digitally to Livongo's platform, so they receive personalized insights, 24/7 coaching support, shareable reports, and custom alerts. In the non-Livongo world, diabetes patients are largely on their own between doctor visits; it could be months, if not longer, before a medical pro checks in. With Livongo's data scientists on the case, users are given actionable insights when their glucose levels are on the rise.

The machine learning platform works. An average member's HbA1c reduction falls from a self-reported 7.8% at the time of registration — above the American Diabetes Association's target range — to 7.1% within the first three months, down to 6.9% within a year. The reductions result in a material reduction in heart attacks, peripheral vascular diseases, and death. In short, members have a better shot at a healthier life.

What do the clients get out of Livongo? Doing right by their insured participants through healthier outcomes would seem to be a sufficient reward, but there are financial benefits here, too. Diabetes has some of the highest healthcare spending among chronic ailments, and Livongo clients see an average of $1,908 in annual gross medical savings per diabetes participant.

The third and final winner is Livongo itself, along with its shareholders. There's been a whole lot of growth here in a short amount of time, and things are just getting started."

"Top-line growth has been stunning. Revenue has more than doubled in each of the past two years, and Livongo isn't stopping to catch its breath. Revenue soared 115% in the first quarter of 2020. The $68.8 million it recorded in revenue for its latest quarter was more than it rang up for all of 2018.

Livongo isn't profitable, but we don't see that as a deal breaker at this stage in the digital consumer health pioneer's growth cycle. Livongo isn't having any problem signing up new clients and members, and now it's making a bigger push into other chronic conditions.

Livongo's platform has recently expanded into hypertension, weight management, and depression. The initial returns are encouraging on all fronts, with systolic blood pressure reduction, weight loss, and measured clinical improvement across all three of the new categories.”

“ Livongo Health stock isn't cheap. It trades at nearly 30 times trailing revenue, and naturally there is no earnings multiple as it rattles off deficits. Some analysts see Livongo turning profitable by next year, but a lot can happen along the way.

Diabetes was a logical place for Livongo to start, and the health benefits to members and cost savings to clients are solid. It remains to be seen if some of the new chronic conditions can be as lucrative as its flagship business.
Livongo has a better mousetrap, but someone else can always dream up a better one. We're not just talking about a superior health-monitoring platform but the possibility that breakthrough treatments for diabetes, weight loss, hypertension, and depression may give Livongo's data scientists less life-changing work to achieve.”

I haven't touched it myself. Saw people hyping it last week but it's not a product I would ever buy myself or trust to even produce what they have in pre orders.

Said I'd post here to see if anyone has any more insight.

Ya easy to knock things back but I dont like the look of the product which ruins it for me. Maybe it's well suited to a different market.

Have people actually put money down on these cars when pre ordering?

I believe so however it's a fully refundable deposit.

"All retail pre-orders require a refundable deposit, $250 for the SOLO and $1,000 for the Tofino. Dealer pre-orders require a letter of credit or letters of interest and all orders are non-binding."

So as this is a forum with a goal of supporting each other and providing tips can a MODERATOR tell me if I can post the following?
I subscribed to mywallst for a month. I like them so far.
A friend subscribed to MothleyFool. Lots of information and US based information.

Am I allowed to copy and paste their monthly tips or stocks to watch into this board? I effectively only think anything from February is worthwhile due to the paradigm shift since Covid-19.
Or perhaps can my 'tip' from my 'friend' coincidentally be the same as theirs?

This is gambling but unlike horse riding... if we offer tips here it's unlikely it's going to make a huge change on the odds. Even the small caps won't be effected.

Anyone have any information on websites to track emerging economies? I see India as being the next China. Emerging economy, pro work and education and huge drive to improve their individual circumstances. Questionable government.

Current hype is based on a possible PR announcing production start by year end. Last week was probably the right entry.

    I'm making no moves today

Sold these on open today at market, got $86.42 for them. Last time I go chasing something like that, nice profit but jaysus my heart cannot take it! :D

I occasionally summarise stuff from Davy Stockbrokers, (where I have an account)...and post it here for discussion.
