    Are people really claiming brutality here? He confronted cops during troubles. Cops in riot gear. He was lucky they didn’t draw batons..

    Was he remonstrating with them? Can you tell me what he was saying? Have you seen a video that shows he is a threat to them?

    Looked to me like he was returning a helmet to them when a thug shoved him over seriously injuring him.

    He then approached the police and impeded them.

    Would you ignore a police warning and impede oncoming riot police ?

    Seriously, guys, wtf do some of you expect police in riot gear trying to bring law and order back to do?

    People approaching them and getting involved with them..During very tense times

    There is next to no balanced objectivity with some posters here. The cops are just all bad bad bad; and people should be able to do and please as they like.

    The man went out of his way to create this. He created this. He brought this on. He instigated this. The cops in riot gear are doing what cops in riot gear do..

    Any person approaching cops in riot gear, or refusing to comply with cops in riot gear....expect them to act..

    The police officer has no authority to use force.

    Impeded them how? Please show me where he "impeded them" and then show me what threat he was to them that he deserved that treatment. Do you think violence should be used no matter the situation? Even against someone who poses no threat?

    What were they supposed to do?

    How about walk around him. ..

    The use of force should be proportional to the threat.
    There is no way you can look at video and say the force used was proportional.

    For someone who doesn't like violence how can you possibly justify pushing an elderly man to the ground causing serious injury regardless of whether he was right or not.

    Even the police chief condemned it.

    This is about you blaming it all on the cops. The man brought it on. He chose to walk up to coos in riot gear..they pushed him away. And you want to lay all that blame on him.
