I hope this puts Holohan back in his box. He has destroyed this country for years to come and inflicted untold misery on families

Don't blame him. He has come under allot of scrutiny lately. Trying to guide a country through a pandemic. Not too long ago he was in hospital probably due to stress.

Meanwhile in Sweden they report 1,056 new cases and 77 new deaths.

No end in sight for them.

Should have acted much more comprehensibly. If they had they would be well on the way out.

RTE are saying 15 people can meet outdoors yet Leo said it’s only for sporting activities.

Yep and now watch the journalistic line begin to shift from not opening up quick enough to opening up too quickly. Anything to whip up the Twitter masses!

Here comes George Lee, he's afraid. FFS, such a pessimist

Hope organisers get an unwelcome letter in the post with a harp on it.

I'm not blaming him, Tony was spot on and the post was aimed at the journalist trying to tie schools up with the hospitality industry.

To be fair to Holohan his job was to give public health advice, the government Leo and the lads/lasses decided to accept the advice as gospel and hide behind the experts.

Yeah I think they've got that wrong, he said it's for exercise / training and there's meant to be no contact

    Leo in fine form today

I’m actually surprised we’re advancing so quickly. Tony must be fully convinced now.

Tony is no fool, there is a reason he spends a large amount of each press conference covering his own arsé.

    "We only advise", etc.

The 10 page letter later will be an interesting read.

I had to turn it off when Heather Humphreys started talking, she sounds like a clown fúcking a car alarm.

That, and informed decisions about whether or not to accelerate phases could only be made once the evidence from Phase 1 was clear and unequivocal.

The Govt was coming under considerable pressure from numerous sectors. The measures sound eminently sensible.

Shopping centres opening on June 15th and all of tourism and hospitality on June 29th are two biggies, very welcome.

It’s up on Gov.ie. It’s fair to say that Cabinet have gone further than he recommended.

Never seen such a total and complete abandonment of an eminently sensible roadmap out of the pandemic then this today, it would have set us up as much as we could to deal with a second wave if it comes much better in the winter.

As had been said before obviously lobby groups have gotten to them and in the end they just said **** it, wonder was this also the price for government formation, open up or we wont go in.

Disappointed in this that they didnt stick to there guns. People are going to lose there **** on Monday they wont know what to queue up for first tbh

    Shin

RTE can’t win, though. Sound negative, they’re pushing an agenda. Sound positive, they’re a Government mouthpiece. Sound neutral, they’re spineless.

Any mention of making masks mandatory on public transport? Or are they still plugging the line about the tiny section who are allergic making it impossible despite countless other countries doing it without a problem.

TBF much of the "bad" press is the very alarmist George Lee. Really not the right person to have on aspects of this.
