There was a report of 150 cases in some meat factory in north cork the other day not sure how accurate the report is just wondering where they are in the numbers

Highly unlikely all 150 were tested on the same day, so if true, it likely filtered through over the course of more than a week

I have never met as many joggers before in my life in my local, rural locality than I have over the past few weeks. Another man (stranger, perhaps a blow in), jogged by me this evening. I had to stand on the other side of the road like a fcuking lemon for a few minutes to let him pass in case he was panting virus. He went on his way and jogged onwards, zig zagging to and from each side of the road. Rural, quite road by the way and no one else was there for that kind of zig zag fu*kery. Can he not just stay in one line? I walk straighter when I'm drunk.

I know here on boards there was some talk about joggers being able to spread virus? Is that true? I did a search for it online and this is what I found:

    https://www.thesun.ie/news/5301075/video-runners-breath-spread-coronavirus/

There is a simulation video there of a jogger panting virus. With some people being asymptomatic and others being infectious before symptoms appear, what the hell is wrong with our government to allow people to continue jogging? Can people not walk? Or get up early in the morning and go for your jog at 5 or 6 am when there's probably more than likely less people about to infect (in case a jogger is infectious).

Figures can be high or low. It all depends on how many tests are being carried out. Want to see more cases? Do more tests and you will find them.

By figures I meant ICU, others in hospital and deaths

Fota Wildlife Park reopening Wednesday 20th May.

My question is who can go to a place like that, only those within 5km?

There was one day over the weekend, for instance, where Cork registered 90 cases, which would have been the bulk of those positives.

First of all the video reported in the sun is a computer generated and also with any lab videos floating on Facebook and Twitter they are produced in lab conditions.
The reality is in real life conditions, sunlight, wind directions, ground temperature.
Even the ground conditions have to be taken into account
Would you believe it's easier to predict the future weather than to predict someone's breath outdoors.
If you want to be outraged by anything be outraged by someone jogging on a treadmill indoors without a mask.

Do you know how a government is formed here in Ireland?

I know a bit, I heard yesterday plans have been put in place to prepare polling stations and all that's required for a vote. I think a dormant rule that doesn't take into account pandemics has made a certain government body act...

Shame on them greens for not working with FG and FF to form a government to help us through the biggest crisis we have seen in our lifetimes. Is there an appetite from the population to go back to the polling stations? I'm not impressed.

I can blame every single one of them parties for not trying. No matter where you stand politically, the left really should have worked a bit harder to group together... Next election they might only have themselves to blame

Paul Reid, on Sunday, said they were doing 4000 a day. Cillian will be in da house tomorrow for test and testing questions!

Are you serious? 'Panting virus?!' The hysteria has reached all time ridiculous levels on this thread. I think you need to turn off the news if this is what you think. Where is this video? Is it verified or some random person on facebook spreading paranoia.
If you're immunocompromised or over 70, you should take some precautions like wearing a mask perhaps in public areas. Otherwise there is nothing whatsoever to fear from someone jogging...except perhaps that they'll beat your time doing the daily 5km...

Masks prevent the spread of the disease more so than stop the person getting it. So if the other people aren't wearing masks. They aren't much use.

FG and FF were willing to work together at government but they need more numbers to form a government. I bet eamon Ryan didn't budge on the reducing the 7% greenhouse emissions sh1te. They could work together at reducing a certain % but 7 is too steep. Fcuking wall that eamon ryan is.

How many times does this need to be said. Those figures are because of the restrictions that are in place. If you remove the restrictions then it is likely the figures week increase. The plan is that we reopen slowly so that we don't have a massive spread of the virus.

I am still amazed that this has to be still explained time and time again I wouldn’t bother with it.

There’s absolutely no need to hide from the wake of a jogger for a “few minutes” outdoors. The virus is not hanging around in the air in any concentration for any great length of time under these conditions. Run down that country road blowing bubbles wot with a bowl of smouldering wood and see how long the bubbles or smoke hang around. The air is constantly moving outside, in every direction.

True, it seems rampant allright in our communities, people are dropping dead on the streets, hospitals are overwhelmed, ICU's are full to the brim, doctor's are overworked...That person better watch out for those virus filled 'joggers' who are going to exhale large amount of Covid 19 into the open air and into everyone that lies in their wake...scenes of carnage I'm sure will ensue...all because they didn't wear masks.

Oh wait that never happened and the virus is practically eliminated in the community and medics are taking annual leave.

We don't know how widespread it actually is until we start doing widespread antibody testing. Dealing in realism here, not hyperbole.

A few minutes????? A person running will run about 100m every 30 seconds. A few mins would be 400-600 m.

You want us believe that you saw someone running towards you from that distance and stopped to wait for them. ..... perhaps 50m to 100m max at most......

Why would a person running Zig zag???? Perhaps to better a better view of the road ahead.

You mean the 7% FG signed up too in an international agreement with financial penalties up €500m annually for not hitting? That 7% or is this a new 7%?
