Anyone else find themselves browsing DoneDeal thinking "I'd buy a few tickets for that"

Because I'd definitely buy a few for this!

Ya I definitely think like that lately! It’d probably be quicker for the likes of that lad selling that to approach rkings, they’d buy that in a shot.

I don't see the appeal of that A6 at all really, bar the wheels (which aren't standard for it) it looks bog standard and I'd guess possibly ex-police. Seems to be slow enough to sell too compared to previous stuff

Yea a lower spec than my own would annoy me too but there's not much detail given. It's automatic though which is an essential for me and I actually like the white Avant "look"

Ex-police if true would likely mean better maintained though, right?

The wheels wouldn't be my style at all. They'd be the first things to be changed

EDIT : never mind. It's sold out anyway :)

But if you don't have a fast car would you make it to Newry to deliver the postcard before the competition is sold out?

This might upset some people but the fear I have for most of those cars is that they're approaching 100k and are modified to the extent that I can picture it being driven the crap out of around an industrial estate.
I find myself leaning towards buying a ticket for phone bundles more than a 4 year old car

10k car for €25 ,mileage wouldn't really be a worry, guessing nearly everyone sells the Audis on. 100k is tiny miles anyway, big diesels good for multiples of that

I dont get most of it personally. Cool looking cars and cheap if you win, yeah. I'm probably a bit tight but €30 or whatever is a fair bit for a one in a thousand chance of winning a car. They are a bit of a dinner for schmucks. If someone was trying to sell raffle tickets at your door or down in the pub for a couple of grand cash prize and it was €30 a ticket you'd have heart failure.

Could be doing worse things with your money but not many if you are prolifically entering these.

Some savage cars in all fairness but I wouldn't enter even for a tenner or so a ticket. I dont do the lotto etc either though so maybe it's a mindset or something.

    What kind of issue?

Got it sorted now, seems that some Internet providers don't work.

Didn't work for me on Eir or Sky but fine on Vodafone.

Yeah same but I think some people are just wired differently and get a real buzz from gambling. If these raffles get popular enough to impact the the bookies then I'd expect something to be done to change the law on raffles. But once sports are up and running again it may not cause the bookies much concern.

I doubt it. It's probably just farm sheds with a lot of security installed.

It’s definitely the quick turnaround time that draws people in, like the lotto when you buy a ticket you want to know within a few hours if you’ve won. All of these other companies offering raffles for a fiver with 5000 entries that take a month to sell out are missing the trick - people will pay a premium for a quick draw.

R Kings Facebook page is getting about 1000 new likes a day but I’ve been watching their website for about a week now and it seems to me that they are getting a bit slower to sell out. The recent A6 avant for example took a while, the Rolex was 3 days online as well I think.

I bought my first ticket anyway, for the titleist irons. That’s a serious package for a tenner. I’ll be devastated if I don’t win!

I bought my first ticket for the Lamborghini last week and again today for the 530 that's gone up on it ,its just a bit of fun for me be nice to win of course and i think i'll stick to one entry a week.

Interestingly i was just looking at the entry list of the 530 to make sure i was on it ,and i counted one guys name 16 times!,thats £400 he is after spending on this draw alone.

Once you're not stingy with your profits when it comes to certain organisations it should work out ok.

Assuming it has been maintained correctly.

Even If it hasn't scrapyards are full of crashed Audis, replacement engine not hard to source,

You're correct about the quick turnaround. It makes it attractive. I've to check every day to see what cars are up for raffle. A new company down my neck of the woods started a few weeks ago raffling one older car. Still hasn't sold out & has lost its appeal for me. Going on too long.

Facebook is full of them now...

I seen one place in Limerick offering a Astra for e12 but it was 14 years old with 190Km on the clock yet folks were buying the tickets!

    Like I get a M4 or somthing but not a e500 Astra!
