I mean if it wasn't due to an accidental viral leak, then it's gotta be one of the biggest coincidences ever.

Chinese lab in Wuhan the largest coronavirus lab in the world.

Outbreak of the coronavirus claimed to have originated 100m from the Wuhan viral lab

US inspectors complaining about virus safety in that lab many times over the years

Top it all off a bloody military warfare games on in Wuhan in October 2019, participated by largest countries in the world, with many athletes getting sick over there with Covid symptoms

    You'd have to wonder

If the US was so worried about this lab why did they fund it to the tune of $3.6m in the last year.

It's easy to get on China's back. People should visit, it is a beautiful country, you might understand it better. Are they telling half truths about the impacts of the virus? I would say yes absolutely. The Chinese are paranoid about being perceived as weak or unable to manage. Assuming they lied about this, I don't think they would do so to cause harm, rather they would do so to avoid embarrassment.

In the grand scheme of things China isn't any more or less honest than the regimes of the west, take everything you read with a pinch of salt especially the pro Brit/Yankee BS we get served in the media on a daily basis.

    Who knows

The US for all we know could have planted the virus in China at the Wuhan games like some have claimed and set that implicit theme, framing them

China's problem was they were the first one's to detect it

If you detected it, the odds are pretty good that you ejected it or so people think

There's no coming back from that.

It's all very interesting anyway, we will never likely know the truth

Far fetched and a pretty spectacular backfire if it were true. The poor girl accused of that is living a nightmare brought on by a crackpot youtube conspiracy theorist. Her husband has cancer too. Its totally wrong that fruitcakes get to name and blame people with no basis whatsoever bar their own overactive imaginations.

The french are talking about it now

Even the Mail got the story

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8291755/Did-European-athletes-catch-coronavirus-competing-World-Military-Games-Wuhan-OCTOBER.html

If China didn't scream we have a new coronavirus in December/January and say the French said we have detected it

We would have probably blamed the French for a good while

It's all unravelling now which is great

If this is true, how come there were no deaths in France until Feb25/26 a full 5 months after the games and in the 3 months since there have been 30,000 deaths. It doesn't stack up in the slightest. It would also mean the Chinese figures are not just massaged but complete fantasy on a unimaginable scale.

    I agree

    None of it makes sense

A virus can't have a 14 day incubation period, be an RO of 5, be mild and asymptomatic and work in your scenario there

It's either spreading globally for a long time and until it's infected most of the population of each region until we notice or its not as contagious as we think and nowhere near an RO of 5 but more lethal

If it was in China in November and pretty widespread in Wuhan, how did it take 2-3 months to get to Western World when 2 milion passengers a month fly out of Wuhan? Was Wuhan so nice it didn't want to leave?

I have no answers as none of it makes sense to me.

It's symptoms are the same as the flu in most part

If China hadn't raised the alarm early on we wouldn't have known about it for a long time, french only found out they had a case in December from checking flu samples

They were not testing for it.... Bit like the fudge of numbers anyway... Hospital deaths onlyetc not covering care homes or deaths at home and so on....

    I don't believe China's figures one bit....

You are late to the thread. Some good research published in the lancet by scientists from Hong Kong (using the data that the WHO got from China) suggested that China had upwards of a quarter of a million cases in February and the outbreak started in China in November. I linked the study in this thread. It’s my personal belief that is probably what happened and we’ll find out the truth over the next few months.

Name a country in the world that will let geopolitcal rivals bowl about their level 4 labs on their own terms. None.

Teams of international medical professionals have been there and all around the Wuhan area during this crisis and just because the US government isn't getting what they want to hear doens't make it any more the truth.

Even the 5 eyes security members have cast serious shade on the lab story and any efforts by admisistrations to strong arm them into saying what they want to hear smacks of Iraq style sexed up documents.

No more then then the nightmare many east asians are living due to the dog whistling racism and conspiracy theories being sung by many people in the west including many in the media and politics...

It means that once the politcal agenda against China was being ramped up then if you die by being eaten by a crocodile it was likely to be put down as a covid19 death

If that is true then there has to be a reckoning for China as it basically destroyed the world economy to either
    a. get a competitive advantage
    b. Save face and image

Either way its resulted in the deaths of 100's of thousands and the suffering of millions. Regardless of how it started they cannot explain away the cover up and lies that followed.

Covid-19 in Ireland since last year :D

Varadkar has obviously got the same letter as the EU demanding it not to blame China for covering up the outbreak and efforts to spread disinformation blaming the US. Maybe Leo owes their banks money like Trump.

Seriously where do you crazies get your arguments from?

China is controlling he WHO, the EU and all of the world, and America has no responsibility for its total incompetence because CHINA did it.

FFS, nutjobs. I keep asking the shutins in this thread to provide some kind of economic argument for the "reckoning" that China will get and how it will happen. Far from China suffering from this it will grow this year, and the US and the West will decline.

What caused the deaths in the US and the West was sheer incompetence of the West; in particular the UK and the US, both run by halfwits, buffoons and cretins.

It was a hoax until February, or March according to the inbred scutards of Fox news. Months after the Chinese had shut down.

Don’t Mention that the Covid-19 came from China. The same China that stopped all internal flights from Wuhan to other parts of China but did not stop International Flights to many many parts of the world from the Same Wuhan Province.

God Forbid that Leo and the Eu would upset the Chinese :eek::eek:

A virus that is spreading like wild fire killing well over 100 people a week in Ireland that went unnoticed in November and December in overcrowded A&E departments, nursing homes, GP surgeries where it would inevitably spread to everyone in that room. And not one doctor or nurse noticed or contracted it?

Leo the liar is lying through his teeth, but why?

Bloomberg reporting that India is canvassing western corporations to move their operations from China to India. No doubt other countries will join in this effort

The idea being - hit China in its pockets

Rolling multi billion dollar fines on China would have a big effect too.

Freezing their assets as well. The EU buying face mask from them too whilst at the same time bowing to pressure from China to water down its report on their spread of misinformation. Removing all references to the virus starting in China. AAA/PBP too defending this. Every red cent spent on goods made in China benefits the Chinese communist party. Whilst companies potentially moving manufacturing to India is a start, I’d rather pay more to support jobs here in Europe.

Don’t be fooled by Apple AirPods moving to Vietnam. This is just Chinese outsourcing. I read in one of the newspapers here (Indo I think, post Denis O’Brien ownership) that Apple actually owns only one “factory” (more an assembly these days) and that’s in Cork. Would love to see some production move there and to the USA and Singapore as well like they did in the past.

It is possible (if not probable) that there were cases earlier than the first one reported so far. However, I think its unlikely they were in November or December. I suspect Ireland could have had cases in late Jan early Feb?

Bryan Adams speaks out about China and the financial cost to him and the AAA&PBP (the kind that put she/her in their bio) bunch here in Ireland and Canadian equivalent are calling for his head. He has every right to be pissed off at the CPC and the Chinese people. I don’t believe it was a bat that caused this though. i bet this virus was created in a lab and intentionally released to kill the poor in China.
