    Why?

Since they are probably from all over the country they would spread COVID-19 putting the health service under great stress, that's why!

    Why?

Oh I dunno, ummm, maybe cos then they'd be dead and the rest of us would be spared this obsessive, dangerous and cretinous behaviour.

I mean just zoom in on the section of the crowd under the orange section of the tricolour and I'll rest my case. A man in a tweed blazer with what appears to be a toy shield. Jesus effing wept.

More like Judge from Wonderly Wagon

He looks worryingly like a well known (and very good) folk musician/singer.

    Say it ain't so!

The lad with down syndrome was in the photo from their first "protest" too.

Poor guy was probably brought to these events by his insane carer

When I see the latest photo of them outside the court. It just looks like a eccentric fancy dress party.

I posted on the other thread

But you have clear 2ft circle around Gemma so the rest of the “people” don’t touch her or could come in contact with her

The one in the white and the one after getting her new fake handbag are overjoyed at the prospect of actually been the least crazy looking to be at the front of the photo

Have you not seen the news tonight? The chief proponent of "social distancing" in the UK, Government Adviser Neil Ferguson, has resigned after encouraging his married lover to cross London on more than one occasion for nookie.

One such occasion on March 30 coincided with his advising BoJo that "social distancing" and lockdown should continue until June.

    Do keep up.

And this has what to do with gems and walters?

Is it linked to one of her theories something like all of us all being turned gay by 5G or vaccinations?

Who cares? this is exactly the sort of stupidity that someone uses as "proof"

Even though i do not agree with them.
The fact that they an challenge the legislation would be a concern for me.

Sorry i thought you were talking about the offences defined by the minister under s31a re holding someone against their will..

Section 38a is also very similar to the ecisting section 38 with similar powers anf that too has been enacted for more than 70 years. I think the main difference is s38a allows the isolation of potential covid infected people which is broader. Section 38 was challenged previously in the high court and upheld as constitutional.

I imagine a challenge to 38a would not succeed because to contagiousness of covid warrants more powers to trace and treat patients.
The main issue, put simply, is the application of restrictions to people who are perfectly healthy. That is novel.

I'm trying to think of the name of that scifi movie, where you could be arrested for a crime you haven't actually committed yet?

Even mad people have the right to challenge legislation - this is our legal system working as it should.

I look forward to the judgement, in which the judge will slag the sh1te out of Gemma in law talking language.

Minority Report which was based on a story by Philip K. Dick

Slagging is one thing, making a judgement is another.
I expect these people know what they are doing.
If the judge cannot take some sanction they will have established the merit of their challenge..

Where are the fancy dress pics i read about?
I have one of those jackets, might give it a day out but not to this event...

    So what is your plan?

Send the healthy people out till they all get sick, then put a lockdown in place?

Even mad people have the right to challenge legislation - this is our legal system working as it should.

It could have as easily been challenged by an unknown person, as many pieces of legislation have been.

It is mad in itself that anyone thinks the government can just bring in any law they like and no one can challenge it in court. For crying out loud educate yourself on what republican government is people.

It seems that to me that our level of passivity surpasses anything ever seen before.

Even medieval kings had to be careful in the face of motivated guilds. Its only the 20th/21st century technocratic state - think Soviet "scientific socialism" for another example - that enjoys something like near-absolute compliance.

However protests in Berlin, Paris, US and other places are arguably putting paid to that.

That is novel but proportionate based on the degree of contagiousness of the disease. I would think that the courts would view it as proportionate in the circumstances .

Minority report is not relevant here as catching covid is not a crime.

Precisely what Germany, Austria, Czech republic, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Croatia are doing now.

Belarus been practising this art of "let people live their lives with risks" entire 5 months this year without a lockdown. Football stadiums are full there. They must be immune?

So whats the verdict on Gemmas case? Can we now go and earn a living or still have to borrow from the govt every week to pay them back in higher taxes Oct onwards?

Funny, my sister in law lives in Berlin. They spent a number of weeks in lock down and are only out of it last week I think, still restrictions

I also had a conf call with a lady in Germany on Thursday last, she is in Bravaria and she says they are all still in lockdown.

Cant talk for the other countries but I think you might be wrong on Germany

Thats strange, all the media reports following

"German schools have opened as of 4th of May.

Their shops of under 800 sq m have been opened since 27th of April.

Bundesliga first games will kick off 16th of May."

There is a voluntarily lockdown, something your friends in Germany might be nonpracticing, which is fine. No one is being forced to go out on the streets like.

Or media is lying. Either of the 2 could very well be 100% true.

PS I think zoos are opening on Monday or mightve already opened.

Well Im not making it up. They where in lockdown for a few weeks, two kids in apartment in Berlin. Great fun, they had a playground right outside so could run over/back when nobody else was in but I know she wasn't letting in any friends/family.

THe lady in Bravaria said they had let some restrictions go in other parts of Germany but where she lived they where still in lockdown. I didn't go into details.

Different states in Germany are under different lockdowns and are easing them at different levels so while what you say may be true in a sense it is not true for the entire country as you are inferring.

Its called being a mature society.

So far I know of 3 people personally to have been infected. 2, one man and one woman have recovered fine, though the man is suffering ongoing fatigue.

The third, an otherwise completely healthy 52 year old man with zero apparent health problems and not being regularly medicated for anything, is dead.

Thats my evidence, thats my motivation. If in this generally welcome but gradual loosening of restrictions I see anyone behaving in a way that risks endangering me or my family with this thing, I'll put them on their arse. You do what you like.

Sorry for bringing you news of countries opening up. I know its difficult to hear given our 5 month effective lockdown.

So whats the verdict on Gemmas case? A lot of top medical professionals in Mater hospital are getting concerned that due to lack of screening and treatment of smear/cervical etc tests as a result of focus on covid19 and maintaining hospital capacity for covid patients, deaths resulted from delay could outnumber the 1300 from Covid.
