Ohio reports 138 deaths. Highest so far for the state.

I thought it was "four dead in Ohio"

The way the numbers are coming out it looks as if certain areas nursing homes are riddled and others aren’t.

Why can’t they be on time ? Put back to 8 and now 20 minutes late . It’s all a bit Irish and I know people will say what difference does it make what time it’s on . But you should be ready to go at 8 if you call a press conference for 8.
8.30 at night is ridiculous time for the daily briefing , every other country can hold it during the day why not Ireland and it’s not a one off ..

Who gives a shyte? Honestly. It’s not like the trump circus every night, it’s not for your entertainment. I’m sure there’s a hell of a lot more going on behind the scenes for these people than just writing down how many people died and how many cases there are every day.

How the hell can new cases still be going up? It's getting beyond ridiculous.

Were at 1000 dead approx. True mortality rate is probably 1%, so theres 80k of folks out there with the virus..... I reckon we had way higher levels of infection. But the tight rules on getting a test lured us into thinking we were winning.

7 more care settings today than yesterday with outbreaks so yeah they're finding ones now that probably didn't think they had it

    Testing criteria was too tight

376 is a long way from 100 unfortunately so doesn't look like there'll be much tweaking Friday, there might be one or two sweeteners but nothing...maybe just a roadmap commencing 11 May

    I agree.

A strongly worded letter is called for.

So if we keep going like that by this time next year we'll only have about 150,000 *cases and 11,000 dead if we stay locked down completely. Very positive stuff.

*confirmed cases, because realistically capacity for testing can't increase much further

**I'm being completely sarcastic, that's terrible.

They're all sitting too close together.

Surely the more you test the more cases are positive ? If the criteria is widened then you get more cases ?

I feel for anyone in a nursing home and their families

I think that some elderly are positive without symptoms but how is it getting into the nursing homes, frontline care workers?
