That 550i has definitely been on here a few times so it's passing through the trade regularly. And I do remember twice that being asked for it too, most likely an ex embassy car. Need to ditch those horrible aftermarket wheels though.

    You're probably right.

It was reg'd to a company for the first 6 years and has been exempt from tax for those 6. It's only been tax privately twice, 3 months at a time and they were back in 2017, out since.

    NCT is out since 2018.

Sounds like a pig, tax is

Cheaper to pull the running rear out of it and put it into a 520d with a fecked engine.

Yeah, consulate staff get to drive some nice unusual metal.

    €2350 tax, that’s some money.

Paying that kind of tax you’d rationalize it.

It’s about €46 per week over a year, some lads spend that on smokes, pissing it again a wall, or snorting it.

What some lads might see as wasteful some might see as their hobby and release, hopping into a car they like.

I previously Paid a quarter for €300 and it pained me after I paid it as every pothole I wafted over in my 2.4 V6 was mocking me and saying “€300 for 3 months”

the power is good, but there are SE E60 bm's for 1 or 2k, the only thing this has going for it, is the engine

No doubt you could rationalise it if you really wanted the car - but there's no escaping the fact that 2350 for motor tax is extortionate.

And nowhere near 300 a quarter.

Or just make it a drift car or something. its also really poorly spec'd inside. No doubt owned by a former soviet state embassy, black car, big engine for getaways but bog spec interior.

It is, but you could whack on double the asking onto most cars with that tax rate if it wasnt there.

I've had my share of 1494 and 1803 etc tax but I'm happy now paying 120 per annum for >400hp and 0-60 in 4 seconds. I wouldnt call the S a luxobarge but it is quite bargy.

Yep, PSV tax becomes void as soon as ownership to a private owner changes.

Yes, and it's €1'494 "normal" tax...so say 3 years tax ( or 2 if you like) say €4'500 tax plus €3'000 price, €7'500 for 3 years motoring in a Phaeton. Not bad at all for that style of motoring.

There no record of that phaeton having a SPSV Licence attached to it. It’s private tax on it.

I posted that very same Phaeton in the bangernomics thread last September when it was being sold by its first (Irish) owner, with long NCT and a bit of tax, it was €1950 then.

They're a lovely car but nobody is paying 3k for them these days

    No,

Tax for a psv is €95.

Thats €102, possibly an offshore island vehicle

Indeed, island tax, I thought island yokes were NCT exempt ?
Maybe current island owner bought it with an NCT on it..........

low miles might be explained by it being on an island ?

That's a nice mark up for 7 months driving. There are only 2 for sale on donedeal at present and the other one is a same year lhd asking 4,500. Obviously that seller is trying to take advantage of the lhd appeal to export to a Eastern European buyer no doubt.

Slightly different type of luxobarge. I reckon it can be got for 5k. Does anyone have any experience with the 55 AMG engine? What are the CLs like to live with?

Jaysus, that's way overpriced at 5k.
