I've been tasked with finding films that are both happy and sad at the same time.

We watched The Intern the last time and she enjoyed it bigly, even though she was crying because she felt sorry for the "that old man" (Robert Deniro). So I think that's the kind of film I should be aiming for... feel good movies or comedies with some sadness I guess?

I'm need of help preferably from girls here. Can you tell me what you like to watch that makes you feel good but also has some crying opportunities at the same time?

For the lads, what does your other half like to watch when she's feeling down?

    Pls halp.

What does what phase of her menstrual cycle she's at have to do with her taste in films? Why can't she find films she likes herself?

Don't get involved. I am female. I can tell you its a trap.

Let her pick and watch the film herself. You can still escape.

I'm guessing you've never had a girlfriend in your life?

Can you at least tell me some films you would pick?

    Ahh right.

In hindsight, it might be a bit too detailed for you.

Try the Disney Channel or CBeebies.

I would just watch a comedy like 'This is Spinal Tap'.

Or ....STALKER ...you can watch that masterpiece anytime.

Click, probably about 15 years old starring Adam Sandler.

Just lock her in her room for her own good until it's over...

People don't realise, the scene from silence of the lambs when he has the woman down in that large pit... that's the only reason she's down there. It's for her own good. (It's totally optional whether you give her the hose or not though!) :P

'Inside out'- animated movie, think it's by Pixar. Happy tears ending.

    Aliens.

    Aliens.

    There you go.

    Stick with your original choice!

Once you both reassure each other no Aliens have been harmed in the making of the film, you are sorted.

And as it's a trilogy, you get 3 months sorted.

Scarface. You're kind of happy for Tony that he has fulfilled his life long dream of becoming a drug baron, you're sad that he killed his BFF Manny and when Tony gets killed, you're kind of both happy because of the monster he became but also sad that it ended this way.

I'd go with something like the The Exorcist - the original 73' version.

Your woman should have no problem identifying with the inner demons expressed in said movie! :D

    Beaches, maudlin aul shıte.

    Up, ditto.

Psycho, blood everywhere in the shower scene.

My missus is not a leg-beard, was looking for more mainstream films.

    I am a woman though. I'm guessing you haven't.

Personally, I think you just need to give her enough alcohol and chocolate so she won't care what film it is. But, I'd second Aliens

My guess is still correct then

I'm wasn't looking for any feminazi opinions, just wanted some cheesy movie recommendations that's all. If you want to argue send me a PM.

Moulin Rouge. It flop flops between happy and sad at least five times. Hands down my favourite movie of all time.

    Also Wall-E

How am I being a feminazi? For some bizarre reason your girlfriend is incapable of choosing a film when she has her period which also has an effect on her cinematic taste. I'm curious as to why.
