What's going to happen to North Korea if Kim is dead?

People have mentioned how the virus ruined what has been a great April weather wise. I for one have never got this much sun in Ireland since I was a kid. I sit outside in the garden with the laptop each day and do my work instead of being stuck in a office. I really have enjoyed my new home office. Hope the weather doesn't go too bad next week.

It’s all over today. All the kids are out playing and neighbours are having callers. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I really noticed it today...estate full of kids out playing, parents no where to be seen and thise thst were out not observing any distancing. Huge increase in cars coming and going. Few doors down had a large party Friday night

So when youre all moaning that nothing ia changing after the 5th for another few weeks be sure to thank all the gobsh**tes acting similarly

Doctors are starting to see greater success with low pressure ventilation . Looks like the issue is blood oxegenation levels rather than typical pneumonia.

Day trippers from Northern Ireland are immune to the 2km rule...

This makes a mockery of all our efforts to control spread of the virus here.

You may be correct. If some restrictions are not lifted next weekend I can see a ramping up of resistance. If peopLe choose to go against the restrictions on mass then there is nothing the government or guards can do about it.

It destroys hemoglobin releasing free iron ions into the blood. High pressure of oxygen allegedly is doing even more damage.

Why are WHO saying this? Its almost verging on scare mongering

How is it so hard to prove somebody can or cannot become infected again? LIke surely in NEw York and places with millions of cases thered be an example or two where somebody became infected again, and given that hasnt appeared to occur would we not take it that there is immunity? Would there not be some people whod be happy to volunteer to become reinfected in order to prove immunity can occur?

And does the plasma injection from recovered patients which helps the recovery of currently infected patients not also prove that there is immunity?

    They shouldn’t have to.
People should just cop on and stop being selfish.
Stay at home and stop the virus spreading and we’ll be out of this before long.

My weekly trip to Aldi the other day i noticed no more Q to get in. Everyone just sauntering in. Before there was someone at the door restricting the amount of people entering.

Dont be surprised to see a resurgence of infections

What is it going to take to convince you that this thing is serious? The WHO is basing this statement on scientific evidence. You're opposing it based on the fact that it's inconvenient!

The Americas are beginning to pass out Europe as the epicentre now as cases in Mexico and across South America grow considerably

42,000 new cases and 2500 deaths in the Americas today

30,000 new cases in Europe and 2800 deaths

Basically saying you can keep catching it and any vaccine research is pointless

Some coronavirus antibodies give immunity for short periods only, so these people could be reinfected in a few months or a year or more. So the WHO statement is correct as there is no evidence of permanent immunity.

I’m just stating what could possibly happen. I think if at least some of the restrictions are not lifted there is a good chance of that happening. Everyone is sick of the restrictions with no hope or plan from the government. People will only take it for so long.

But they should clarify that they meant that then. They didnt say permanent immunity specifically, from their post I take it theyre sceptpical for some reason that there will be any immunity at all. Even if people are immune for a few months or a year it will help a lot to slow the spread of the pandemic

Not 'scare-mongering', they are telling it as it is. We know very little about this virus and what we do know is very bad news.

I think it is scare mongering seeing as there are more signs than not that there is at least some form of immunity provided after infection, such as the plasma injections helping infected people recover.

If there is thought to be no immunity, why would that plasma have any effect? Seeing as it is apparently/may be just plasma that has no memory of how to fight off the virus

We need to get new cases per day below 100 for relaxation of restrictions. I've been told this by a source. My uncle works for the council in Baileborough.

UChicago Medicine doctors see 'truly remarkable' success using ventilator alternatives to treat COVID-19

Doctors at the University of Chicago Medicine are seeing “truly remarkable” results using high-flow nasal cannulas rather than ventilators and intubation to treat some COVID-19 patients.

Reuters Special Report: As virus advances, doctors rethink rush to ventilate

The same has been found in Europe and elsewhere... 'Happy hypoxics' don't need ventilation.

It seems that “cytokine storm” or a sudden deterioration are now the main indication for mechanical ventilation in ICU.

This knowledge and new approach has resulted in far better ICU outcomes.. which is great news for all.

They are not used to being required to do some work on the street.

Probably unsure what to do now that so few cars are on the road & they cant catch them speeding
