    As was suggested by one poster on the thread of most miserable town in Ireland, lets highlight towns and small villages that are fairly decent and seem attractive to live in to outsiders. Try not to name the town you live in either.

    Arigna in Roscommon is a delightful little place, there is one of those old fashioned general shops just down the steep road before the entrance to the Mine, I think its called Redmonds or similar. Proper old fashioned service with products like Homestead which I thought was gone out years by now! Plus there is a pub called The Miners Inn that, were it not for the influx of tourists to the nearby mine, would strictly be a locals only spot but they couldn't be nicer to me when I visited. Very friendly.
